This is the final of the top six viewing countries of Exiern to be featured, coming in at Number Three is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The different terms can get a bit confusing to outsiders, even those of us from other Commonwealth countries so there’s a handy guide here to reference. At the very least, don’t use England or English interchangeably with the UK, Great Britain or British and the citizens from the other nations composing them or you may end up in a sticky situation like Faden here.

As mentioned before, we ended up with an extra Oktoberfest image – actually two in the sense that we didn’t know if the deadline would be met so we doubled up to be sure and from that we ended up with yet another image. So, it ultimately made sense to go one step further and bridge all the images by getting one more made as a reaction shot (and also enable us to have an Exiern and a Dark Reflections voting incentive – both NSFW by the way! – of the same theme and continuing the narrative) and it all ends here as coincidentally, the day chosen for the UK was a perfect segue into the conclusion for this whole sequence. A seemingly inevitable conclusion for Faden given his past form at that.

As it happens, it took a little time to find a uniquely British calendar event but we did get there in the end and with an especially good fit as described above. For reference Guy Fawkes Night is an event commemorated on November the 5th each year in the UK, hence the deferment of the update by one day from Monday (we hope the previous Thursday update went some way to making up for that). You can learn more about it here but the short version is that he tried to kill the king (so topically apropos). It didn’t go down well. That reference does say “Eventually the violence was dealt with, and by the 20th century Guy Fawkes Day had become an enjoyable social commemoration, although lacking much of its original focus.”

Just a bit of an understatement as the original conspirators met quite horrible ends, relatively speaking Guy Fawkes was the lucky one (and that was very relative). You can look that up under his entry here but a word of warning, it’s quite gruesome in its description as history often can be. Something we can often forget or not fully register in the study of such an event as opposed to seeing it play out in front of us.

Anyway – in summary for getting the experience of this short narrative in the correct order – for the month of November – read here first.

Then vote here (NSFW!)

After which vote here (NSFW!)

At which point why everyone’s so mad at Faden here should be quite clear! Of course there’s never a time when they’re not, his being evil and all that but there’s a particularly good reason this time!

After November 2019, these voting incentives will be posted in the Voting Incentive Archive which you can find through the link in the menu bar from December 2019 so you’ll still be able to see them if you want.

We hope you enjoyed the experience as much as we did making all these!
