First off: here’s to 1000 more great pages 😀
Secondly: anyone else get the impression Cap wanted to ask something entirely differently? o_O
Thirdly: it actually was common practice for new soldiers to literally sleep with their weapon, to get used to it as Cap said: it becomes so much a part of them that not having it is unnatural
The captain? Now you mention it, can’t quite put my finger on it… 😀 😀 😀
felt like, the captain wanted to ask Tiph for a date…
and the weapon thing: it still is nowadays. when I got my rifle, we were told to take it with us to bed, especially during bush days. the rifle was to be kept in the sleeping bag. remember the boot camp scenes from Full Metal Jacket?
I am not a weapon maker, but I agree that the design of that hammer would feel awkward to use. A round handle would work for a multi-sided weapon like a mace. Single-direction effectiveness like from a sword (or even a tennis racquet) need the user to know which way it is facing. They have a shaped handle to give tactile feedback on whether you are holding it to best effect. I suggest a small redesign on the handle. And maybe a loop at the end for swinging. It works for Thor.
Considering we don’t see the end, the shaft could be oval for all we know, just like most modern hammers
@ O.B. Juan That reminds we of an interview with James Earl Jones, when He talked about sleeping with his snake when he was in the Army. You need to know your weapon as completely as possible. I kinda slept with my F-16D when I was in the U.S.A.F.,but I studied it a lot more than when I slept with it.
Thought you were going to say when he slept with his snake during the production of “Conan the Barbarian” :p
