Swords, Sorcery, And Then Some!
Howdy, New Readers! Thanks for reading Exiern!
Written by Scott T. Hicken with art by Antipus, the comic updates Mondays. Please check out the Archive to enjoy the earlier adventures of Typh and Peonie!
Exiern contains mature themes and is best for readers 18+.
Well, this is nice but I wonder when Typh gets a turn at a (long term depiction of) romantic subplot and with whom (I know there’s been whispers about it on the horizon)?
Also, more importantly, who’s going to clean up this whole mess? (I can see a revolt on the horizon if it’s who I think it is. They didn’t take too kindly to the tea incident and that wasn’t much *and* an accident …)
I would have expected royalty to have body-servants, but Peonie is working her own clothes and they even seem designed to allow her to serve herself…..(it was a demonstration of wealth to have clothes you couldn’t put on or take off by yourself)
It may actually be something else when we see the finished and coloured scene but the August single panel preview in Patreon is possibly implying buyer’s regret on Peonie’s part (though it could be her mind is actually on something else).
I suspect he’s taken the advice about not bringing the ropes with him anymore. Ignoring your girlfriend’s best friend especially when said best friend is also her roommate is done at your extreme peril.
So the question out there about Typh’s turn to shine in the romance spotlight, how does everyone think that might play out?
There’s three broad ways this tends to play out in fiction.
A potential relationship starts but founders when the other party finds out the history of Typh’s past. Probably less likely as most of the people we’ve seen seem to be pretty chill with this sort of thing right up to and including the king. Also, it seems by now it would be fairly well known so it’s more than likely people would know beforehand.
Then there’s the other party knows and is perfectly fine with it and anything Typh wants to do in future in terms of getting back to how things were before the transformation. It could happen but may not be that interesting if there’s no conflict.
Potentially the most interesting scenario depending on how it is done is if someone comes along and is fine with the situation to start with and says they’re OK come what may in theory but as time goes on the implications of Typh’s quest to get restored progress, come to think that despite their best intentions at the outset, they’re just not as accepting of it all as they thought they would be. How that develops could be very interesting depending on how it plays out.
Wardrobe malfunction! On the previous page the material of the under dress around Peonie’s legs is opaque, and it goes down to her ankles. Here it’s shorter and translucent, and there’s no sign of the silver-blue fabric.
Sorry, but that kind of stuff just leaps out at me.
Don’t forget that thanks to perpetual reality shifts, there’s never any such thing as a continuity error! In fact it’s impossible for there to be one in the world of Exiern as a result.
Also Typh’s pants just before this scene where Osir explains the state of perpetual flux reality is in, were brown and Peonie’s were green before they suddenly ended up blue and brown respectively. Stories of a colouring error at least in Peonie’s case may be a cover story.
Shan: that’s why said free! Normally they have been artfully covered or censored (don’t have a problem with the uncensored being Patreon-only, personally reading too many webics to Patreonage them all, even at just $1 each 🙁 )
@Tristan: It’s a world with magic and dragons in it, and your ability to suspend your disbelief stumbles because of panties? I think we’ve already established that half of what Peonie wears can only exist in a world full of magic anyway.
Well, it’s all there waiting for you when you’re ready. Not going anywhere any time soon. Cura Te Ipsum is another one, at least when they travel to the alternate world where clothing is illegal except in special circumstances.
Be a Producer!Your name/title with an optional SFW hyperlink will be posted prominently HERE following the close of the month! You’ll also receive monthly mailings from Exiern’s author, Scott T. Hicken!

P-cups looks great in the last pannel. I love her expresion, you really hit it out of the park.
D’awww. They make a nice couple.
Is this the closest we are going to see unfiltered free nipples?
Bad Taiming71: last panel? she looks great in the first panel 😉
@ Guesticus
Well, for $5/month on Patreon …
I would have expected royalty to have body-servants, but Peonie is working her own clothes and they even seem designed to allow her to serve herself…..(it was a demonstration of wealth to have clothes you couldn’t put on or take off by yourself)
I don’t remember him looking so dashing.
@ Silly Green Monkey
she’s had to learn to do it herself, what with how often she got kidnapped before being rescued by Typh
I would not have undressed in a room that looked like this. I would have called the guards.
Well, maybe if Peony asked me to…
@ SGM
As said by negative, she’s had to learn how to do things for herself.
Compare and contrast to this past scene:

(Complete with rare Typh facepalm!)

What, no ropes?
Of course, we can’t see what’s in his other hand…
@ Dean

@Brandi:
Not to worry. What we see here is the transparent garment seen previously on Peonie’s arms.
So, this is more like a whole-body slip (no clue what it would be called in fashion jargon).
Personally, I’m more intrigued by the fact that it’s transparent everywhere but over P’s nips, but there has her exact skin tone. Clever weavers.

Oh I thought you meant free as in “not or no longer confined or imprisoned.”
Anyway, I’m just reading this for the story so I don’t care one way or the other.
No really.
Not sure if Bikini Bottoms existed during this time.
I would thought bloomers of some type.
Can I just say that especially going off examples like that last frame, the artist is just getting better and better?
*sigh* a bouquet of flowers when what she really wanted was some unenchanted rope from outside the castle.
Shan: to be honest, same here, pages like this, to me, are just a bonus 😀
Tristan Darkthunder: neither did they have boxer-shorts with hearts on them 😛
@Tristan: It’s a world with magic and dragons in it, and your ability to suspend your disbelief stumbles because of panties? I think we’ve already established that half of what Peonie wears can only exist in a world full of magic anyway.
Besides, I wouldn’t put it past either of these two to have suitable…implements…hidden away.
Heaven only knows what’s hidden in that bouquet.
@ Guesticus
So did you go check Eternal Knights out then? It has free … you know.
Been too busy that last week or so 🙁
