Swords, Sorcery, And Then Some!
Howdy, New Readers! Thanks for reading Exiern!

Different things will break suspension of disbelief for different people.
I look forward to finding out why Tinnay’s brother is so hostile to her, since (if I recall correctly) she already told us it wasn’t the fact of Typhon-Kree being gay.
Will-Aine (sp?) just LOVES rubbing salt on wounds. It is not a smart ploy when dealing with someone who can go toe to toe with dragons and not only live to tell the tale, but still stand strong before you.
Uh Oh!!!
Wonder if that is The North Wind or another sword?
If it’s the NW, it will do the damage it thinks Tiff needs to be done.
If it’s another sword, Brother maybe in a little trouble … unless they can find a good (witch?) doctor in time.
GET HIM, TIFF!!
Why do I think Tiff and the North Wind have different agendas here? Besides his lack of respect for Tiff and general jerkiness, Tiff’s brother seems to be a decent leader for his people. There’s been no clear proof that he sent the assassin after Tiff. If he’s not trying to kill her, why should she try to kill him? Other than the tradition of family hating each others guts?
Legit is a Old short form that goes back to dark ages as modern slang goes its not modern that might go back thousand years. Simple truth is its not slang its LAZY and people have always been lazy.
I think Tiff not a complete fool I think she testing her brother innocence. North Wind will not cut if he is innocent. And it will prove it is North Wind .
I try to make my shout-outs to pop culture more subtle than Drowemos used to; and often wind up discarding many of them when I can’t quite get it to work right.
This turned out to be one such time. In the very initial drafts of this page, the dialogue was going to be littered with bits of pieces of lyrics from M.C. Hammer’s “Too Legit to Quit.”
But when I couldn’t get it to work the way I wanted to (hey, some of my initial ideas aren’t very good, okay?), I dumped the whole thing… but apparently “Legit” weaseled its way through as an artifact of that original draft.
@ManWitch true and thats my point. Legit is a Legit abbreviation that is ancient Slang not necessary modern.. Just BC its Slang dose not mean its Only Modern Slang.
Ha, got it now. Tiff’s brother did not send the assassin. It was a Rus shapeshifted to impersonate him in hopes of getting Tiff to come kill him! The North Wind will not hurt him proving to her that he didn’t do it. He is still a a!s anyway 🙂
Nah its the Shaman he is the Adviser so he could done it all bc how much you want bet just like Tiff Will-Line thinks reading is for sissys and the Assassins showed a letter when they wear hired by..
http://www.exiern.com/2012/05/10/to-the-fly/ there the commission.. Some one wrote it and Will-Line like all great Barbarian Men are illiterate.. Probably because its association with magic but there a Guy in that room That dose magic so IS Literate.. Calling it Now The did SHAMAN it.
Jonathan Wint: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/legit
That’s the only reference I could find, but I think it’s probably true. The word “legitimate” is already a shortened version of the one-syllable longer Latin word “legitimatus”. That being said, these barbarians apparently all speak the same language as the people in the Southern lands so there’s already some deviation from our historical norms, so why couldn’t someone say that something seems legit, from an in-comic perspective, that is.
@ManWitch but These are Barbarians so having they Speak as Road scholars and Thespians of William Shakespeare would be worse. And less realistic.
Seem to me at there meeting hall one would be lucky if they did not pick there nose and eat it at the table for fear they would not have enough to share…
Be a Producer!Your name/title with an optional SFW hyperlink will be posted prominently HERE following the close of the month! You’ll also receive monthly mailings from Exiern’s author, Scott T. Hicken!
She seems upset.
I feel he liked saying “Sister”
Putting the North Wind’s ability to the test me thinks… Damn but those swords on the back wall are big.
So are we going to ignore the fact that the one adviser guy said “legit” for serious? We are? O-okay. Let’s tuck in for a kick-a!s fight, then.
The problem would have been if all he had said was “Legit!” or “Sounds legit!”
That “advisor” is the Shaman. And what in all the glaciers of the wild north is so bad about saying “legit”, a common shoft form of “legitimate”?

GET HIM, TIFF!!
Well one of the advantages of using North Wind is, if it’s to her advantage to NOT kill him, it will just chop up his clothes and armor.

Isn’t slang sometimes lazy?
Funny story about the use of “legit.”

I thought the reference was in the title (LEEEEEEROOOOYY…)

legit is a perfectly cromulent word

Because legit just sounds so awful 😛
