Swords, Sorcery, And Then Some!
Howdy, New Readers! Thanks for reading Exiern!
Written by Scott T. Hicken with art by Antipus, the comic updates Mondays. Please check out the Archive to enjoy the earlier adventures of Typh and Peonie!
Exiern contains mature themes and is best for readers 18+.
Olivia? Are you sure that’s wise? Peonie’s room isn’t exactly the safest place in the castle. There’s been what seven kidnappings, several armed intruders, a rogue spellsinger who had “plans” for her royal blood, trysts with a knight who was away from his station, and a narrator have all shown up there at one time or another. Does Theresa really think that’s a good place to sleep?
@Brandi: It has more rooms. But not more rooms that would be “fitting” for the new queen.
So naturally the now next lower in rank (P-Cups) has to make room until they are allowed to sleep in the same room.´´
It’s like you getting thrown out of hte president suite because the real president needs it.
Guess there will be a burning of the sheets (and the blankets, and the matress, and the bed, heck, the whole room)
Christopher: maybe, but you are usually told before you go back to the room you are paying for and finding your belongings out in the hallway (after the SS have gone through your underwear)
Slumber party at Tiff’s room. Hopefully there are no pillow fights i don’t know how Tiff rolls but i hear some barbarian kids put rocks in the pillow cases. Because the fight to win.
I wonder what Tiff was going to say in panel three before she was cut off.
Castles often had separate sleeping chambers for the King and Queen, they are connected but not the same room. Additionally they often had private suites of rooms for their personal use. Her needing Peonie’s room seems odd but I suppose this castle might be small or just setup poorly.
And I notice that Peonie is showing her skill with her own natural assets… and I don’t mean what her outfit is putting on display. Let’s face it, she’s always been good at getting along with people. The knights and protectors and such have all been genuinely interested in her company (as opposed to drawing straws and the loser has to guard her).
As for the security of her room… who knows? For all we know, those are just the attempts that actually succeeded. It’s quite possible that they regularly repel intruders aplenty… except for the ones that get through.
…On the other hand, considering the intelligence of some of the guards that Tiffany had to deal with during the trip back with Faden (“this is why you are not allowed to have the key.”), well…
“The Queen cannot lay with the king until the church of REM recognizes the union.”
So, it was a civil ceremony then? Why did they have one of those, if they need to have a religious one anyone before it is official?
Most people, if they want a religion to recognize a marriage, will just have a priest preside. But perhaps the king has some secret reason to do things piecemeal…

Oh Boy! Nothing like coming home and finding out you lost your room to your Future step-mother. 🙂

Slumber party!
Gee, for some reason I thought the castle was much bigger.

Someone forgot to turn on the layer with Olivia’s eyes.
Never a good way to find out you just got a room mate…
I am creasing up right now at the look of realisation on Peonie’s face.
However I can see Peonie becoming quite the formidable leader when it comes to her turn to rule.
I think P-cups is more worried about Queenie finding her personal things. Like sexy personal things.

It was Tiffany who said “Knew what?”

AlpineBob: still say it’s some evil plan of Terry’s
Evil plan? Possibly. Or maybe just misunderstood.
She used to be a priest, but that doesn’t automatically make her evil.
If you look back from http://www.exiern.com/2014/09/25/its-only-a-pattern-if-you-recognize-it/ to now it appears Tiffany is shrinking… She looks shorter than Peonie in the last frame here and dwarfed her on the 2014/09/25 one…
Her breasts are getting bigger,
it’s not just me.
