Swords, Sorcery, And Then Some!
Howdy, New Readers! Thanks for reading Exiern!
Written by Scott T. Hicken with art by Antipus, the comic updates Mondays. Please check out the Archive to enjoy the earlier adventures of Typh and Peonie!
Exiern contains mature themes and is best for readers 18+.
@anony: She probably expected Peonie to step back anyway and intended to follow it though with a second step. When you don’t have the tactile information, the first moment of falling backwards can seem to you as if they were stepping back, so she followed it up, and ran into Peonie’s range.
Though I have to agree with Uhl: She doesn’t seem to be stumbling, but rather in a forward movement, so Peonie will most likely just hit the orb and slice Olivia’s clothing (and perhaps her cushions lightly)
It’s a good angle to pierce the orb without hitting the heart, but Olivia might be getting an unplanned mastectomy on her left breast. Or at least a nasdty scar.
Surprise ending:
We hear a ‘whoosh, whoosh’ noise in the air. A blue box appears between them. David Tennant steps out and says “Oh, there’s where I left my glasses.” He grabs them off Olivia’s face and walks back into the box. The box disappears along with the glowing orbs.
Hah, you guys forget what comic this is. I assume that Olivia’s expression in the last panel is where she discovers that our favorite princess accidentally cut her top just enough to expose her bare bosom as she also won the contest…
I have enjoyed the fight but i want to see what happens after. I also don’t want to wait till summer for it. I also hope no Boobs were hurt making this story arc.
Well, @Bad Taiming, Peonie is wielding the one sword that could penetrate the orb without injuring any boobage (that of course is assuming Peonie took the sword Tiff offered Olivia’s bodice and corset, on the other hand—well, we all have to make sacrifices in the name of Justice
actually want to say we got told early on when the queens hand first showed up that she wasn’t supposed to survive past this story arc. or it may have just been that we wouldn’t see her after it.
Northwind can cut what want cut cloth but not cut skin pass threw fless with out harm. Sister Teresa would of been hamburger instead of nude when she and Tiff first fought otherwise!
Going by that angle in panel two, Northwind is going to be going through the bewb to strike the Orb (two orbs with one strike? too soon?)
But, seeing how it is Northwind, it may simply put a hole in the Olive’s blue ball and her tunic, buuttt we have already seen it actually cut Olive’s shoulder, the actual cause of panel three will have to wait to be revealed
The North wind will not cut if it is not in the users best interest That is not to say it won’t cut. Maybe it thinks cutting Olivia not a bad thing for P-cups.
In the future a dead Olivia might be a good thing for P-cups. Only the dreamer knows and i guess the sword.

Really? She didn’t look like she was running forward with that stab.
I wonder. Is it possible to pierce the orb without piercing the heart?
From that angle? It looks as though both ladies might luck out.
RELEASE THE BOSOM!
Unless Olivia’s off balance and faliing down, Peonie’s sword strike is not going to have a lot of force behind it.
These two really over-commit to every single attack, don’t they? What ever happened to pokes and jabs?
mmm, that going to hurt a pretty bosom

I kinda wonder if this happening in slo-mo for everyone watching.
You know, for dramatic emphasis. It is a magic duel after all, kinda.
I get a kick out of the comments. Has everyone forgotten that neither of these ladies are in control of their bodies right now?
Slugfiller – It’s the two mages that over commit. Not surprising really since I doubt either really understands/knows swordplay.
That look on Olivia’s face seems to say, “Augghh! My left t!t! You punctured my left t!t!”
I really hope there is a healer/priest/cleric nearby. Gaping chest wounds are no laughing matter.

Moment of truth, Northwind! Are you truly all you’re made out to be?

…why do I think that her death was the true objective of this? (am I reading into the plot too much?)
Anyone else wondering where Tiff disappeared to sick he wished Peonie’s luck?

You could be right, @Tssha. I’m just accustomed to all the women in Renaissance dresses wearing corsets as the primary undergarment of choice.
@Chaucer59 What corset? Looks to me like she’s wearing a simple tunic.
In fact, even some of the men’s garments—Cardinal Cilantro there is a prime example of a corseted doublet.
