Good thing Tiff didn’t misplace that, there would have been a lot of the wrong people getting beat to a bloody pulp. And this gives the King the ability to not be blamed for any mistakes.
Why do I feel that’s not a good sign – if Game of Thrones has taught me anything, the hand of the king tends to be a ticket to death or at best, mutilation…
So I don’t know if you play the Dragon Age series at all but Cassandra and Leilana were known as the Right and Left Hand of the Divine. The Right hand does everything in the light, the known muscle and the one that people know. The Left hand is the spymaster, the assassin the one who does the dirty tricks that can’t be linked back to the ruler. So this is where now Typhan-knee comes in.
Vader was one of Palpies ‘hands’, the most visible one, Mara Jade was one of several hidden hands (can’t remember which hand Vader was, so not even going to make a guess and f!!k it up)
Actually, Vader was Palpatine’s Sith Apprentice but was pretty much the second in command in the Empire with some Moffs near him in power. He wasn’t one of his Hands (They were spies and assassins with some force powers or at least Mara Jade was).
Also, no doubt, the historic associations of “left hand” with evil and ill fortune… the king’s left hand does the jobs that don’t get talked about. Like butchering pedophile priests…
Please tell me this means she’ll be safely transported… in the brig. Because even if she is acting with the King’s full authority, this sort of behavior is… not how you behave, if you want to keep your covert operations covert.
If you want the FULL cooperation of those you are working with, you show them courtesy and respect, while expecting them to return the favor in kind. You show up flashing your credentials and declaring, “My authority is greater then yours losers, f!!k you hahaha now do whatever I say while I mock you, hahaha,” then you’re going to get a lot of feet dragging and sullen resentment. That can be a problem.
To put it another way, think of “Archer.” Think of how often Archer behaves like this, when he’s on a mission. “Give me those instructions – let me rip them up and toss them, a REAL secret agent doesn’t need a briefing!” Now think of how many missions Archer has been on in the series, that failed miserably because of… this kind of behavior.
Hell, even the “barbarians” that Typh comes from behaved better than this.
Umm, where has Typh acted anything like that?
There has been no credential flashing, no mocking, basically, none of what you just posted
They arrived at the boat (after a short shopping trip), boarded the boat, went to get something to eat, and then asked, politely, to speak with the captain privately
You will notice that he asked to speak to the Captain alone? As for the rest of the trip, the Captain merely needs to give out that Typha-knee has given his parole to not attempt escape and this in combination with the King’s request that he be treated well in exchange for past considerations. The crew will accept his behavior as long as no attempt is made to leave the ship prior to delivery. Captain’s orders will be accepted.
It’s probably worth pointing out that a northern barbarian would have another reason to appreciate being the King’s “Left Hand,” since Ash* lost his right hand during his adventures. Typh would have little reason to treat the left hand as “sinister.”

Now we might find out what the real mission is and this could be only part of this mission too.

As a Star Wars fan, I can’t describe how happy I am to see Star Wars fans in general refusing to acknowledge Disney Star Wars as canon, lol.
Also: Mara Jade is best waifu.
And the winner of the “Who’s In Charge Here” sweepstakes is…
Knew there was something going on between those two (and ‘those two’ being Kingie and Typh) 😀
Well the princess did think there wa smore to this and what was on the surface. Then again, she knows her father and it looks like she was right.
I wonder if the name of this ornament derives from the adage “The Right Hand does not know what the Left Hand is doing”?
Also, no doubt, the historic associations of “left hand” with evil and ill fortune… the king’s left hand does the jobs that don’t get talked about. Like butchering pedophile priests…
Which is derived from the word meaning ‘Left Hand’:- Sinister
Ah, and here’s the reference I was looking for… Urtica at his finest.

Sweet. Thank you! 🙂
“Never let your right hand know who your left hand is doing.”
Good job, very good job.

He probably won’t be in the brig during the trip. They need to help Typhan after all.
about time we got on with the story.
