Swords, Sorcery, And Then Some!
Howdy, New Readers! Thanks for reading Exiern!
Written by Scott T. Hicken with art by Antipus, the comic updates Mondays. Please check out the Archive to enjoy the earlier adventures of Typh and Peonie!
Exiern contains mature themes and is best for readers 18+.
I’m surprised the scabbard doesn’t have a tapered tip. The squared tips are usually for blades that are shaped in a manner it would be impossible or impractical to mimic with the scabbard (i.e. blades wider at the tip than at the base).
Also, really it was more an aggravated assault than an attempted murder…not that the accusers really care that much about the finer points of law. 😀
Attempted murder? Didn’t Typh specifically ask for a healer, so that he wouldn’t die? Further, it’s a groin attack, and those are very seldom fatal on their own.
From the look on Peony’s face, I would say that she wanted to give Typh a fighting chance to escape rather than just wanting to return the sword, which leads me to thinking that the talks aren’t going very well.
Yeah I have been expecting plot to drive them from the kingdom, a story can only be pushed so far when the adventurers have the resources of a kingdom at their disposal and no reason to travel.
All this time and she Still thinks Typh is okay with half-baked “diplomatic” answers rather than the straight up unvarnished truth? Whooo boy. This is not going to end well for Anybody.
What I really like about this entry is that it really shows that Tiff has a brain and is thinking ahead. She nailed the issue in a few very short sentences and showed that she has just been waiting to see how the negotiations went.
I think our princess bringing the sword, our faithful guards looking into the room as she does it and not stopping her, and her NOT wanting to tell exactly what “they” got suggests to me that what “they” got is not…um…guaranteed to result in long life and comfort for our favorite barbarian.
AKA. The king absolutely is NOT giving the barbarian time to run before the pitchforks and torches come for her. And he would be really happy if she left through the window rather than going through his two favorite guards…if he wanted her to go…which he doesn’t…because that would be interfering with the legal justice system…
Typh is safe. The world may burn to cinders around her, but she’ll be (basically) fine. anything else would mean an end to the series as it is known to be.
The rest of the cast, with the -possible- exception of the princess? not so much. 🙂

Hmm. What is Tif getting at?
Peonie “wanted’ to return North Wind. What is she returning instead?
Called it!

@Uhl I dunno, there’s some pretty big arteries right there that could get clipped. Easy to bleed out from an attack like that.

“Thanks for my sword, yes, I wanted that…but what do they want?”
“Um…maybe I shouldn’t have brought the sword in just yet…”
“”What. Do. They–”
“They want you married and settled.”
Is this Princess P-cups attempt at saying ‘goodbye’?
Here is your sword, and if anybody asks, you have not idea how it got here.
On the road again. I can’t wait to get back on the road again.

😉
Also Tiff is more politically minded then we gave her credit fire.
Hm, isn’t there a dragon lady demanding attention? Wonder how she’s going to fit into this.
This had best not end with Tiff getting killed in some way. This is not a suggestion.

She banished..That makes sense her Brother a Foreign Leader.
@^ i f Tiff is banished from both North and South what’s left?
