Somehow I suspect the Women for the most part will not be upset.. Nor Husbands…

Not every one is unhappy about their body (size or shape), regardless of what the anorexic fashion houses and beauty industry would have you believe

Going from a body that looks like it would be good for manual labor to some thing like the seamstress in the short term might not be great. But i am guessing as a northern woman they will be feminine and strong. If they are any thing like Tiff.

    Body horror, spellsong-style.
Suddenly getting warped into a standardized shape would spook anyone.

Not to mention the lost jobs for dietists, fitness instructors, etc!

One size to fit them all,
    And in fabric, bind them.

The social and economic factors of suddenly, magically, and irreversibly changing every woman’s body-type to some arbitrary “ideal of beauty” is horrifying.

Farmer’s wives, or blacksmith’s, who have to do a great deal of physical labor would suddenly find themselves be unable to complete their tasks.

Exceptionally tall women suddenly shrunk would find themselves be unable to reach that which they stored on high shelves without assistance.

Shorter women would find themselves hitting their heads (and other body parts) constantly as now their doors, tables, chairs, bets, etc. no longer fit them.

    And So on…

In short, this is a nightmare of epic proportions, just because one seamstress decided she didn’t want to have to deal with customizing her outfits to fit individual people.

Eesh, no wonder the Church of Rem (among others) hate female spell-singers.

Haven’t we SEEN women with other body shapes throughout the comic? Granted, they’re usually older or whatnot, but still… and I know they come in different heights.

And some of the changes seem unimportant (if you’re lanky, or lithe, or stocky, that doesn’t mean much), but others… if you’re obese, that’s not HEALTHY. And that’s coming from someone who’s had to work hard to drop fat (Especially after being raised by a mother who deliberately made all three kids overweight so she could justify her own girth by blaming genetics. I’m talking “desserts every night, putting sugar in every recipe – including cooked vegetables – and supersizing all the portions” levels of deliberate).

If this had been voluntary it would be a blessing to those who accepted it. Imagine obese people having the chance to shed all the extra fat in one go, without effort. Image every short person who dreams of being tall suddenly having the chance to have the dream granted.

What’s evil about the Song of the Seamstress (assuming the tale is true) is that she forced it on everyone.

No Evidence Strength or stamina Affected just Shape.
