But do they ever have rhymes that are quite unsingable?

My dear good fellow, know that it’s quite impossible.
Like how the wind blows, their rhyming unstoppable.
To think otherwise is an act of sheer folly,
so follow the cries and join in their jolly.

@ Sensei Le Roof….THANK YOU! I, too, thought the lyrics would go well with “Camelot” from Holy Grail.

I’m very glad someone else noticed that those lyrics can be made to scan with THAT melody.

If you’re going to do an anachronism, at least do it in a Python venue.
Well played, Mr. Hicken (though I wouldn’t mind a little Gilbert & Sullivan to go with)

Which might explain why they’re a traditional part of a sailor’s uniform. Actually, it’s because they’re easy to roll up for when you’re swabbing the deck.

I considered a lot of tunes when writing the lyrics (I was actually in a production of SOUTH PACIFIC) but Camelot was the one that most naturally came to mind with the lines as I was writing them.

Is that the Exerin version of In The Navey?

Well, at least they’re not accidentally getting each other killed, so that already puts them leagues more competent than their land brethren.

        So only one fatality.

        Yep, leagues more competent. 😉

Hey a little of topic but I recently finished reading Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson. (It’s book 3in the series) In it we got the flashbacks for Dalinar. Well long story short I think Tiff could relate to the character. Basically Dalinar in his past used to be a VERY violent person (we only learned how violent as his magically pruened memories slowly return) Basically he’s was a different person than the guy we met at the beginning of the series and as the memories returned and he has to face the reality of HIS DARKEST ACT Dalinar basically owns up to the fact that while there may have been outside forces influencing his actions to a degree he was still responsible for his actions, and he both admits his mistakes and wants to be human despite seeing himself as a monster for the horrible things he has done. He wants to do better.

So yeah I think Typh/Tiff would relate to the character of Dalinar. Even though Typh/Tiff is Way more snarky.

Has anyone else read Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson, book 3 in the Stormlight Archive? If so do you agree with me that Typh/Tiff would relate to Dalinar?

The last panel is most definitely ‘not’ a Monty Python reference.

    At all.

One of the most on-the-nose Monty Python references I’ve ever seen, lol.

    Well played!
