She hates the Church of Rem, which once proclaimed crusades to wipe out the northern barbarians.

Ehmm, also there’s the whole him being a pedophile thing, I don’t think she approves of that :/
But Typhan-Knee’s problem here is with him specifically. Typh has also cooled on the Rem thing somewhat.
Then again he didn’t give Typhan-Knee a good first impression.
Meanwhile, that last panel reminds me of a bit in one of my brother’s “Honor Harrington” stories – Lieutenant Abigail Hearns is teasing her Chief Armsman (a former Manticoran Marine) and says something about she knows that he could single-handedly storm a reinforced ceramicrete bunker armed only with a butter knife clenched in his manly teeth, and he snorts and says “What kind of wuss Marine would need a butter knife for a measly bunker?”
I’d forgotten that – but she was ready to hate him based on his position in the Church anyway.
Is it just me, or does he look like Charlton Heston as Richelieu in The Three Musketeers and The Four Musketeers?

@Jake, it’s both. He said something to p!!s her off, AND she hates him on principle. He’s one of the “old guard” that wants to bring the “let’s kill all the northerners because it’s fun” decree, that has been ruled false.
Why no you can’t perform your ‘blessing’ in private. These six armed knights and two spellsingers will be here for your safety at all times.
For some reason Tiff looks ready to burst a blood vessel, and not necessarily her own either.
@Eric: Forgot about that, that’s might be why Typhan-Knee is having a hard time resisting the urge to kill him.
Tiff is thinking in the last panel: “Spoon? or Plate? Both! Spoon for removal, plate for presentation!”
Was it just me who thought it was Tiff in the purple dress dancing in the centre of the room? o_O
I think Typh might go for a bare-handed approach, to maximize the personal satisfaction of feeling bits tear and rend. Implements would only make things faster and less painful. (Unless Typh had access to a rusty spork, that could be made VERY painful.)
She spit immediately following the comment about ‘children’s blessing’. She no doubt hates him on principle, as I’m sure most do, also not withstanding Typh’s inherent distaste for most people, but I think it’s safe to say the man’s blatant and even blithe allusion to his sick little hobby. I’m totally with Typh on this one. And for all those with my sense of humor… See if you get this!

Wasn’t Tiff frozen into immobility the first time she face off against the woman now slated to be queen? And isn’t this guy more powerful than she was then? I don’t think a 1vs1 fight would go in Tiff’s favor.

My question is why Typh is sitting at the high table? Is she still technically engaged to Peonie? And if bodyguard, they are close but never sit in same table as the protectee. No Neils or Bohrs either.
a pure bodyguard wouldn’t be sitting there likely, but tiff passes as p-cups closest friend as well. never mind is semi publicly considered a friend of the queen to be after their public fight has been put behind them.
and in the end, in line with the “it good to be king” logic, the king can sit anyone at the head table he pleases really. an established friend of the royal family sitting there wouldn’t be that out of question. that the friend can probably take out half the royal guard just a bonus.
