Perhaps he means only that others have called it into question, not that he thinks it isn’t genuine.
In any case I look forward with interest to the next page (s).
@RGD I’d say it’s lets lawful and mire practical. He is going in a political hornet’s nest, and his only chance to make it out alive is for everyone to know he isn’t playing fast and loose here. While Urtica us more then willing to be Michavellian when the situayion calls for it, he also knows there is a tome and a place for it. This is not that time or place.
I wonder whether he means that he questions the accuracy of the information found in the book, or whether he means that others are calling the accuracy of the book’s contents into question.
You may want to have a look at your ads- three of them are popping up a “are you sure you want to leave this page” window every time I try to leave the page, a problem that very quickly irks me while trying to read. (I’m on IE and Windows 7 my popup-blocker is current I assure you. This is not the first time I’ve had this issue and I believe the exact ad in question to be the Expedia ad.)
Obvious Solution: “Evidence? Okay. Still, I need to ecclesiastically deal with those listed in it. I want a copy in three days, I know you have reliable scribes.”
@Catheren – thanks for letting me know, I’ll see what I can do with PW’s listings and adjust that. It is annoying and most certainly not something I have set up.
@MirrorField I think that’s an excellent compromise but I doubt Teresa would. She’s a bit too ambitious and into believing she’s all that and the bag of chips besides.
That’s often the trouble with a power couple… Both parties tend to be struggling for the most powerful position.
I think he’s implying anyone could infer the whole thing was Theresa’s ploy to gain control of the church. Keeping the evidence separate from the church would at least preserve the impression, if not the actual truth, that the evidence was subject to outside insection and passed the sniff test.
That’s a validreson, anyway. I’d bet Utica wants to save it for a rainy day. Will work much better than any ol’ umbrella (ella ella)
Be a Producer!Your name/title with an optional SFW hyperlink will be posted prominently HERE following the close of the month! You’ll also receive monthly mailings from Exiern’s author, Scott T. Hicken!
Ooh! Their first fight? Will make-up sex accidentally follow?
What happened to the fancy gold trim on her left glove?
On the back of the wrist/forearm.
Well, s!!t. That alliance didn’t last long.
I think he wants this done by the book. I mean he is Lawful but I can’t tell if evil or good or neutral still.
Note that his crown never came off, during or after the shower. That’s symbolic!
@ Kathucka
Or perhaps it is too tight and he can’t take it off.
He is implying that the book may be fake

Well, it looks like the honeymoon is over.
To bad this scene couldn’t have been written with him waiting in the library and her just out of the shower wearing only a towel.
And for those of you at home playing the Exiern version of Clue, the answer is: the queen in the library with a candlestick.

As always, Urtica manoeuvres for maximum control and advantage in any situation, no matter who else gets hurt…

I’m sure that he’s implying that the book is a forgery and the whole thing was a ruse for her to take over as the new church leader.
I think if he suspected Teresa he’d say so openly.

Urtica is implying that he didn’t ascend to the throne of a large empire and keep it long enough to have adult children by fully trusting anybody.
