Wait a sec… is that guy wearing cybernetics? Does that make him a “Beyonder”? (I forget the terms here… I don’t think Beyonders have been mentioned since near the beginning of the comic.)

That ‘First Lady of the Church of Rem’ does not sound like he was saying that Terry is the first female in the church, but as a title
Well, remember the last story arc. They had muted Theresa, and were going to expel (possibly kill?) her for her scandalous and un-priest-like behavior, until Peonie intervened. Now she’s the First Lady of the Church?? Something big has happened.
(Oh, and BTW, ‘FINE!’ clearly translates to, “nothing I want to talk about right now”. So, probably not so fine.
Beyonders were cool but were erased as a dream sequence and then were erased for real, There was Authority and Traveler Teck that you gave a dying Person.Tiff got gutted fighting a Beastman (I think it’s been a long time that was kind of a bioorganic Beyonder) So she took a potion of the Beyonder and Grew internal Dermal Plating you could see threw her wound, I think the Beyonders were supposed been the Travelers Solders and the beastguys the Authority’s.Tiff was worried because one the mechanical infection could spread and two it was very magic proof and might lock her form as a girl. But then Tiff woke up. And was never certain if it been a dream.
I do not think he is a true beyonder that stuff looks strapped on. Opposed to implants Growing under the skin (Very The Clockwork Vampire Chronicles by Andy Remic) But came out years before in Exien.
I Missed those guys.
As ‘First Lady of the Church of Rem’ it sounds like civil war brewing and the King Doubled his Mages by including Women in the church. The Male Priests might be a bit upset with the Idea…
And I totally called it… King just got his Daughter Loyal Female Mages opposed to a bunch of Misogunos Mages he was having to constantly threaten.And Doubled his power and cut the churches. The church of Rem would of Lobotomized Peonie they day her dad Died as it was.
And Gee as a Happy Side effect He just surrounded himself with a bunch of Grateful former Female Prisoner/slaves…. Bet there New Priestly Uniform looks Like a String Bikini ?
On a Side Note Peonie Mom Disappeared years ago.. I wonder if the Church might of been involved? If the HELPED her disappear and put a collar on her neck.. If so Sister Teresa – aka, Brother Thomas would of Known and I can just Imagine how the King would of Took that…

You can never dispense with rope. Remember the evil wizard who changed Typhan-Knee in the first place? Remember tiger-man? Rope is always handy. If they don’t get rope now they’ll regret it later.
I’m looking over some of the earlier strips in the Exiern series and Typhan-Knee was definitely using reins on her unicorn. I guess somewhere along the line the narrator (what did you call them again) must have changed that little detail.
I don’t know what else is going on, but it seems pretty clear the meeting with the grandparents didn’t go well.
