There is seriously something wrong in that kingdom if she is getting punished bringing that criminal to justice.

It’s how she did it. Everything has a time and place, unfortunately. Especially in a society that considers itself civilised (like we/they do).

@ rphb, they still have to deal with the fallout from the “faithful” of the Church of Rem. There’s also the fact that four of his “apostles” threatened to bring magical mayhem to the entire alliance, starting with Typh. There may be MORE among the Church of Rem that considers this incident a right and proper divine mandate to wage a war of extermination, like the mandate the very Church of Rem now considers “heretical” regarding the Northern Tribes (plural). Peonie’s right to say it’s too early to proclaim “happy ending.”

@Mark: His and Peonie’s room was trashed several strips ago.

And it is too early to celebrate, they still have to hold the trial.

@J Except they don’t have a problem with how he did it. They did decide to protect Typhan-Knee for bringing Coriander to justice.
Also remember that the kingdom is a monarchy, not a democracy.

It would seem the next logical step is for the King to exile Typh and let her be the focus of ire from the church as they hunt the ‘barbarian criminal’ to bring her to ‘justice’. Still curious what the dragon’s plan is though.

What’s with the “missing a heart” thing?

There are consequences for having said “I quit”. This is a very lawful society. They aren’t going to quietly rehire Tiff, so she can’t stay in the castle. Which will free her to do a “buddy film” with the Dragon lady…

There are no happy endings for Typh, only temporary tension releases…

Why, did some of the girls suffocate because crying stuffed up their noses and they had no mouths to breathe with?

I was going to say that it looked like someone fixed up the room, it looked a lot worse the last time I saw it.

@Jake It’s a constitutional monarchy not an absolute monarchy. That means there are limits to what a monarch can legally do.

There is a nearer and dearer reason for a lack of a happy ending. The two armored gents in the hall are not standing there while Peonie calms down Typhan-knee just for their health, though its healthier to arrest her when she’s calm. They are also being polite to the recognized companion of their princess.

The King’s first responsibility is to his subjects, and in this case stopping civil war.

Tom Billings: Neils and Bohr aren’t there to keep Typh locked up, they are there to make sure no idiots tries to commit suicide by going after her, Typh doesn’t need to ‘calm down’, she is already calm

Tiff has to leave the kingdom and lay low. This is not choice for her she is getting booted out to please the mob “public”.

    Alright… Where can this go?

Coriander and co will stand trial so we can probably write that whole arc off for now. There’s another song in every room except Peonie’s old room. Peonies has brought the north wind. Tiff has had visions of her male self telling her to find him. Her clothes turn slutty but melt to a sort of metal sludge if she removes them and we have a heartless woman thanks to a mathamancer…

I’m thinking the hint is for Tiff to kidnap Peonie here and escape. They’ll go on another quest for Tiff to find himself and dragonling will follow or intercept.

    …DOOOM!

    April 21, 2016, 5:35 am | # | Reply

@Charles: Not going to happen. Besides, most of what you mentioned has already been resolved. We already know what the visions of his old male body mean and it ended with him insisting he be called Typhan-Knee and not Tiffany, because he still views himself as a male and that still his gender identity.

The songs are no longer a problem now that they already took action against Coriander.

The clothes issue already resolved itself with Typhan-Knee’s new attire. In case you haven’t noticed, the curse didn’t doesn’t affect his new Clothes.

So there really is no reason for Typhan-Knee to kidnap Peonie. Honestly, that’s a rather huge leap you made there.

    April 21, 2016, 5:43 am | # | Reply

@Guesticus: Exactly! Honestly, Typhan-Knee has handled this very well so far and he’s just chilling in his room. He doesn’t need calming down.

@Ben: Either way it’s still a monarchy and ultimately the King can do whatever he wants and overrule anyone else if he wishes. Either way, Typhan-Knee did what Urtica and Teresa couldn’t, so he won’t hung him out to dry.

Worst case scenario he makes it very easy for Typhan-Knee to escape any angry mob that might form.

@Vorlonagent: You know, The King never actually accepted Typhan-Knee’s resignation.

Jake: very good point: Typh simply shouted “I quit!” then did her thing with Cory, Kingie never had the chance to accept or decline

As i said on another fourm:

Her attack on the Lord High Huppy Duppy was felonious assault, or attempted murder or GBH or any one of a number of rather serious crimes.

Urtica has to make it clear that it was not the result of the Turbulent Priest Effect (even if/though it was).

I’d say the least she can expect is banishment (for a while, anyway).

That, or Peonie and her other buddies will set up a deliverance (possibly with Urtica looking the other way – that is a man who knows very well which side of the bread-substitute bears the ikky-wax; if only because he put it there…)

Either way, King Daddy has to know that when Typhan-Knee goes, Peonie goes with … whether by choice or because some practical-joker god has made it so, Peonie will go.

And when Princess P-cups does go, he will watch from a window, with but two thoughts: “Try not to get kidnapped… again!” and “Be safe”

Yea gotta love Religions. It allows a small group of people power over others by messing with their minds. Religions allow its priests to preach, “Do as I say. Not as I do”. The only difference between a religion and a government (any flavor) is one has a fanciers set of cloths. Both can manipulate a group of people to abandon all morals to simply do as they are told. Coriander and his disciples are a perfect example. Coriander simply throws them away when he is through with them or uses them as tools for his own protection or gain.

@Bullwinkle All enterprises are made up of people and people are flawed. What you are talking about is less a flaw in religion and more about members of a religion failing to live up to its ideals. Also all enterprises, weather governments, religions, business, schools, etc… are corruptible since they are made up of people, and people are corruptible. Also just because you are a follower of a religion doesn’t mean that you have to agree with every thing they say for example I’m an (admittedly lapsed, but I have been trying to change that) Catholic and among the things I don’t agree with the church on are that I am in favor of women priests and I am good with PREVENTATIVE contraception (FYI I’m adopted and born in 1985). Put I don’t see the need to throw out the core tenants of my beliefs (such as love thy neighbor, what you have done to the least of them you have done to me) just because I disagree on the details.
