Wait, wouldn’t her beating up the village bullies make her a bully as well? Specially seeing how she was doing it ‘on principle’, which means sometimes they were just walking doing nothing to anyone
I believe “beating up bullies on principle” mean when she caught them being bullies to anyone, not specifically because they beat her up, or someone she knew.
Keeping in touch with family is good. It’s nice to see your niece or nephew coming into power. Especially so with places where you have to earn your place of authority.
Guesticus,
Sometimes you have to do things just to keep everybody in tune. And there are probably things that Diane didn’t catch them at (and whip their buts for).
I’m trying to tell if she’s still going to travel with them to the pass or if she just hopes her uncle will visit from time to time for the stories in the future.
Probably travel to the pass and have future visits. Could be interesting if she’s there to see the Rus attacking or something and has to continue travelling with them.
The Rus would presumably jump at the chance to capture the Princess although with Neils and Tiffany as guards, I can’t imagine it an easy task even for a large groups considering Neils beat the 3rd Lance on his own without breaking a sweat (about 8-12 men) and Tiffany beat him without missing more than three strides.
Still, with the bed partner of the Barbarian leader they’re trying to keep peace with seeing them off, it would certainly put the Rus in a difficult position to weigh the barbarian peace deal against the capture of the enemy leader’s daughter.
@Guesticus Quote “Wait, wouldn’t her beating up the village bullies make her a bully as well? Specially seeing how she was doing it ‘on principle’, which means sometimes they were just walking doing nothing to anyone”
“Beating up ‘X’ on principle” means who ever is getting beat up is being beaten simply for being who they are, not what they are doing
If it was “beating up bullies for being bullies”, then it should have been written that way and not make her sound like a bullies bully (beating them up ‘on principle’ is not the same as being the village protector, that’s like going out and killing all sharks because of one attack)
@Guesticus I agree if all she was doing was beating them up for being say stupid or short or being a shark.. but those are things your born as , ie have no choice over..Being a bully is a chosen Path. Makes the difference. She Choosing to Prey on those that decided it is acceptable that Might makes right and that Hurting those weaker than you is ok.. All she doing is Agreeing with them.. But choosing to only torment those that think its the right of the powerful..

Like mother, like daughter. :-p
Yes … Stay in ‘touch’ with family.

Nope it makes her the Hero.
