Howdy, New Readers! Thanks for reading Exiern!

Exiern contains mature themes and is best for readers 18+.
He doesn’t treat her as a slave.. he protects her. If she’s made to fish and do traditional women things there’s no chance of her getting hurt if she was allowed to hunt.
Oh My God! It all makes sense now! Wyl and Diana are together, and the reason he won’t let her go hunting is cause he doesn’t want anything to happen to her. Awww.
I see whats going on, the Rus treat women like **** because they believe that they can’t be trusted for more than just “housekeeping”, Strum has something against the Rus and Wyll-Line disagrees with the ultratraditionalist.
Suggestion: When the comic harks back to previous developments would it be possible to do what they do over on El Goonish Shive and have a link back to the comic in question.
Of course, we only “know” that Wyll-Line’s prejudices prevent Diana from hunting because one of the tribeswomen told us so… one of the same unreliable narrators who gave us backstory on the death of Wyll/Tiff’s father. I don’t think any of the tribe know the whole deal when it comes to Wyll’s internal affairs.
Wyll-Line a better king than been given credit. Not certain there a couple other than they work together and are freinds. I still think Diane did the old clan chief killing. Hence her fear that Typh will ruin things (not exactly how one puts it when your lovers about to die) No there Conspirators not Lovers or husband and Wife. No I am betting There Secret about who killed the old chiefs gives Diane some credit/Power, And allows her to slowly change things.
But all fights of honor/Law must be done bare chested?
Bet this is how Neil reveals his scars. Betting he is a Frankenstein style super solder.
Well, as Thursday’s page was leaked early, I suppose I can lay it out a little bit more.
Wyll-Line is currently negotiating a peace treaty with the Rus, which he has not been discussing publicly (mostly for the reason you saw a few pages back… they’re old enemies and knowledge of the treaty by the rank and file would lead to considerable push-back).
Diana’s role was to watch the contested territory (that the Rus have agreed to withdraw from as part of the treaty), not so much to fight if trouble gets started, but to lead the withdrawl if the Rus prove duplicitous.
However, Diana IS effectively Wyll-Line’s right hand woman, his most trusted ally, his second-in-command (the barbarians are EXPECTED to follow her orders unless they have a REALLY good reason), and his mate. There are more than a handful of elements within the barbarian tribes that REALLY don’t like that.
So the assassination attempt on Tiff was arranged to p!!s her off, bring her home to kill her brother and it was assumed that she would leave instead of taking command because she didn’t want it and, as a woman, would be extremely difficult to take it, thus creating an opening for the traditionalists to regain power.
I definitely agree that what we ‘know’ so far of Wyll-Line is a character view that is being proven to be completely untrue, as well as a strong possiblity of a plot of traditionalist wishing to remove him from power, and judging from the old woman’s reaction a few pages ago, replace Wyll with Typhan. Now this makes me think that Neils opinion will change of the barbarians and he might open up more to Diane (and possibility the Princess) As for his scars, he’s most likely a eunuch, possibility as super soilder too, but a eunuch none the less. The theory is simply bassed of his comment about the princess view of sexy scars http://www.exiern.com/2013/10/31/not-always-about-your-nudity/
I have no idea about en eunuch or scars. I allways thought that if there was something to hide in Niels was some traveler stuff like the one the put on tiff on that dream sequence. Sincé it is horrible for her when she finds out she was cured with such. Maybe the training is complemented with a traveler shield that covered his face in metal or something like such.
@Abel Garza yep had not thought of traveler Teck,Realy good call (they do not even have those old pages anymore) but parts clearly machine not human was Exactly what I was thinking to.
I feel there’s something missing between this strip and last (last was when she arrived, right?). They’ve gone from “Typhan will kill him!” to “what, you’re not a slave?” with no transition at all or reason for their reaction.
Be a Producer!Your name/title with an optional SFW hyperlink will be posted prominently HERE following the close of the month! You’ll also receive monthly mailings from Exiern’s author, Scott T. Hicken!
Not sure if that good or bad, the way she feels.

Is she his wife perhaps?
unlike if she’s allowed to hunt*
Diana’s basically mocking these “outsiders” ignorance here. She finds the idea that Wyll-Line would even TRY to “enslave” her laughable.

Rethinking, maybe she better then i first gave her credit for, but without more data, it hard to say for sure.

So was she undercover as a Fisher then? I’m confused.

Diana (the redhead) was guarding the fishing camp, with an enormous club.

There’s a slight bug here… this page (which is supposed to be Thursday’s), somehow overwrote the page which is supposed to be here.
The correct page should now be posting. Sorry for any confusion, everyone!

Great, I didn’t see the next page but the discussion is now on this page. Note to self, click back here on Thursday.
@Urgash Eunuch?! Wow I never thought of that but quite possible. But I still think he is more monster than man under the Armor.

Steampunk FrankenNiels? o_O

@Silly Green Monkey, as per chemiclord, this comic over wrote the one that was supposed to come next.
Chemiclord’s arc has been such serious business from start to finish. No time for humour… =/
Damn, princess is hot in that uniform.
