Swords, Sorcery, And Then Some!
Howdy, New Readers! Thanks for reading Exiern!
Written by Scott T. Hicken with art by Antipus, the comic updates Mondays. Please check out the Archive to enjoy the earlier adventures of Typh and Peonie!
Exiern contains mature themes and is best for readers 18+.
Yeah… suddenly she lost all sympathy points with me. And I suppose this guy is supposed to have deserved it, but… all he did was try to flirt with a woman who barged into his dressing room uninvited.
Well, let’s not forget there’s two entities fighting over control of one body. In their previous combined appearance, the human had the upper hand but now it seems the being who drowned people on a regular basis in their former life is now running the show.
Meh. been with Exiern since almost the beginning. It’s no longer for me.
This isn’t meant to be a flame or anything. I was just going to stop reading but I’ve been with it so long, I know if I was the writer/artist, I’d want the feedback.
I may be a minority, but I am not enjoying the current art style and frankly the way this whole tailor arc is written is boring me. Usually when there are boring parts I slog through it for a while – which I have. But I am not even invested in these current characters.
Why did Jaycee end it like that? It was still popular and good, and we were about to see a possible threeway with Heather, Marie and Prince Albert (or maybe just Heather and Marie)
Oh well, it was his story and his choice to end it
CapnBlaze: this arc is explaining what happened up to where we left Tiff and co, while that art is ‘different’ would not, personally, say it is bad (not as bad as, say, the Neon-pink and orange issues of “Ghost Rider” in the mid 90’s…)
This comment is just a restating of the behind the scenes situation with Exiern since we’ve been seeing more than a few people saying they’re calling it a day on reading it. Hopefully we can convince people to hang in there just a bit longer.
The main storyline is coming back, complete with the main artist. This story was meant to have been published at least twice a week and long since finished by now but the situation ended up being that it had to be once a week.
On the upside, thanks to this story and the length of time in had to be stretched over, Exiern can remain at 1 page/week for at least another year, I think (if not indefinitely – which is the hope).
The reality is, production was running out of money among other things. The main artist also needed a break and thanks to this, this year for the first time in a long time, there’s a sizable artist (first this and now the main story as well).
Sure, everyone wishes things had played out differently but at the very least, this was a much needed safety valve that’s helped reset things a lot. 2018 is promising to be a big year and I can’t wait to see it either (OK, I help out but I haven’t seen anymore of it than anyone not named Scott or Antipus either).
Whoops, that should have read a “sizable buffer”, not artist. As opposed to the page for the week still being made right up to the due date it was meant to be published which was the case for a bit before this arc started running.
That situation plus an artist needing a break doesn’t make for the best combination for meeting weekly schedules in the long run.
Be a Producer!Your name/title with an optional SFW hyperlink will be posted prominently HERE following the close of the month! You’ll also receive monthly mailings from Exiern’s author, Scott T. Hicken!
Note to self: If you can’t see her pupils, swipe left before she does!
OUCH!
UM … was it something he said?
He was in a dressing room when she came in. No where near the door.
Not… sure he deserved that…
Anyone else getting a 404 error when attempting to go to “Bloomin’ Faeries”?
@Guesticus – Jaycee decided to retire it and took everything down. Probably means I do have a bunch of links to edit.
Well, looks like somebody (some bodies?) has got seven years bad luck …
Well, that just cracks me up. Heh- BONK! Ow…
Was she expecting that to create some sort of mirror portal? Cause I don’t think it worked.
Why am I not surprised that this guy’s death would involve a mirror?
@Frith Ra Because it’s an ironic end, I guess. Not that that’s something that happens often in this series.
Jaycee retired it- just boom– too bad. Wish he had left a note or something. Kept thinking I had the wrong links. 🙁

I just want to say I didn’t kill him as any moral commentary on my part. Feel free to judge but I was sad to see him go.
I don’t think a lot of people appreciate how cut-throat the retail industry is.
@Shan–but she didn’t cut his throat. She bashed in his head.
~Cerulean Lion, missing the point. :/
I miss this. Lots of engaging in conversation in the comments sections like the good old days. We should kill people off more often.

Anyways, that’s all I got. I wish you luck.
Oh wow, she’s a monster! Murdering him for no reason? *shivers*
Well I am pretty sure the door comment was from when she was first Introduce.
Checking back, seem like I was wrong on that, so now not sure what being talk about
The door comment is referring to opening a portal between this world and the one the gods were supposedly residing in.

Okay, Ce, just making the point – even if either of you were originally women (which you’re not) – neither of you are ‘ladies’.
Let me guess: the magical mirror-portal only opens with a blood sacrifice……
Well, they’ve made mirrors in our world too which show you as you are and not reversed in the same way ordinary mirrors do but this one does.
They say the effect is very disconcerting. Ours are done with technology. Maybe this one does so because … it’s a gateway to another world!
(dun Dun DUN!)
