Avengers: Infinity War Special – History’s Greatest Monster
People who talk in cinemas when a movie is showing, am I right?
The gang decided to take a break from saving the world by watching someone trying to save the world … by destroying half of it.
At the same time, Typh discovers his inner Thanos.
Our way of marking a remarkable era in film in the form of the MCU coming to a major point in its history.
Art yet again by Marshall Reeves of the webcomic Yesterday Bound.

Someone needs to explain that it refers to the Infinity Gems, not a war that lasts for Infinity
Plus, the movies are heavily condensed versions of the original comics
Take the Civil War movie: not much of a ‘war’ when there are only what, 10 or so people involved?
The comic had hundreds (if not thousands) of people involved, and that’s not just counting the mutants (who still have not made it into the MCU… yet)
Not everyone reads the comics so they’d only know the movie continuity.
Also, I wouldn’t overthink it, Typh was also clearly discovering his inner troll as well.
They don’t have to read the comics, just know that the movies are condensed version of the original comics
Wasn’t overthinking too much, just explaining a little
The reality is, though that most people don’t know or even care. For them, if they even remember or knew in the first place who Thanos was, it’s going to be the 50% off the universe guy, not the guy trying to romance Death guy and definitely not the guy who saved the universe from a mad Egyptian Pharaoh in The End.
As for Typh, maybe he didn’t read the comics because he wants to show he’s a serious reader who’s graduated to ‘real’ books with words but still maybe he just saw the words “Infinity” and “War” and just put together the most literal meaning and intent together.
Or maybe given how he’s looking there, he just felt like maliciously trolling everyone on a whim. I’m going to put my money on the latter myself.
Not going to force someone to read, that’s on them, butt when someone says they don’t understand something, will at least attempt to help them understand, even if it’s simply “It is based on a series of comics from the 80’s” and leave it at that (unless they ask for more)
It might even get someone interested in reading the classics, and that might then get them to read more modern comics, comics that are published online, like… this one 😀
Thank you for your comment. I was trying to restrain my inner pedant, and lucky for me you said it before I had to.
As for Civil War, I’m glad they took the smaller option, because if they’d waited until they’d had a chance to introduce hundreds of heroes in their own movies Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. would have been hobbling around on walkers in the final fight.
One of the meanings of the word age is ‘a distinct period of history.’ Absolutely nothing specifies how long or short an age can be as long as it can be easily distinguished form other periods of time.
I don’t disagree with you but the general public would be inclined to think of an age as being longer than the Weekend of Ultron.
How about Weekend at Ultron’s instead? Decide how much it’ll be like Weekend at Bernie’s from there. XD
You should ask Vision about that.
Oh *Snap* …
I really hope someone’s going to call out thanos for the stupidity and futility of his plan – population doubling rate is usually 1 generation – human race has doubled in numbers every 20 years or so since WW2 – and we are now over 8 times the number we were a 100 years ago. kill half the population, next generation multiplies and you’re back in the same mess in 1 generation.
worse – since the survivors are not feeling grateful at all – so they are even less inclined to agree to whatever you have to say.
How long would doubling the resources last? And where would you put it? One large reason why at least the food resources on Earth are low is because humanity has spread to cover some of the former food producing areas, or destroying resource areas to make way for other resources
Harsh as it may be, halving the galaxy population was the easiest and best option
Ever seen what happens when there is an abundance of certain food-sources? A huge population growth that quickly outstrips available food and other resources and you then end up worse than you were
I always took it as not just the population reduction but the message as well, that if the unfettered expansion of population numbers and resource uses continued, for all the general population of the universe knew, it could just as easily happen again. It was a message to change our ways or else.
Yes, agree with you
