Swords, Sorcery, And Then Some!
Howdy, New Readers! Thanks for reading Exiern!
Written by Scott T. Hicken with art by Antipus, the comic updates Mondays. Please check out the Archive to enjoy the earlier adventures of Typh and Peonie!
Exiern contains mature themes and is best for readers 18+.
While browsing around that time, incidentally, I found this:
2011/06/13/thats-to-be-expected/
Which is very much on point for what’s currently happening.
Tiffany really needs to stop trying to be as masculine as she can be, and instead become the strongest woman she can be–but woman nevertheless.
Jake, you are absolutely right. However, what Typh–no, you know what? Not Typh, Tiff, because she is in fact a woman now–What Tiff wants is of absolutely no relevance to the spell.
In terms of being “attracted to men”, Typhan-Knee was a pitcher, not a catcher. He wanted to sexually dominate his victims. By raping them, he displayed power over them.
At the core of Tiffany’s understanding of femininity is the idea of submission being shameful. Everything else springs from that. She cannot help but see submission as an expression of defeat.
And yet, she is surrounded by women who have learned the art of expressing their strength even while submitting. Peonie, for one; and she has grown in this during her time with Tiffany. Theresa, certainly. Olivia, in her way. The women of Typhan-Knee’s own tribe, in theirs, as we have seen.
Way back here:
/2012/07/31/similarities/
as a shamed and repentant Niels joins the expedition north, Tiffany says, “He won’t be the first guy trying to make up for an old shame.”
To break the curse, Tiffany must stop seeing womanhood as shameful. She is going to have to learn to experience receiving as a gift.
About the curse, sure. About Typhs old identity.. We don’t really know yet. I’m versatile myself, yet I almost never masturbate other than the ‘normal’. Typh could simply be not that self-aware of his desires. Also, While in his rape scene he was trying to dominate..
I don’t see how A: It’s couldn’t still happen with typh being both aggressor and bottom.
B: What sexual position have to do with dominance.
I’ve always wondered. What if Isabelle was a spirit / spell of protection for Peonie when she was in the vicinity of the castle? So when she leaves the castle / town area Isabel disappears and when she returns she reappears? She’s more than likely the ghost of her mom watching out for her.
I’m thinking that Olivia was about to tell Peonie that Isabelle is now the Queen’s personal maid–but something unexpected is happening with the Queen in Peonie’s old room. I suspect Theresa is not familiar with corset laces, but how this could be shocking to Olivia is beyond me.

Odd, she seem mellow, and who they walk in on.
Is her hair grayer now than when the girls returned to town?
It’s the charged effect of the sleeves, or maybe something else too.
Izzie is back to being a guy? o_O
“Is right here, getting dressed, in what used to be your room.”
Wait, who is Isabel the red head? Was she Peonie’s maid?
What’s this about “back to being a guy”?
Was she is being talked about in the past tense. Something tells me she was in on the attack.
Last mention of “the red head” was here:
2014/12/02/more-dangerous-than-it-sounds/
She was supposed to move Peonie’s clothes “but we must have indisposed her before she could.”
Of course, “indispose” might just mean making her Theresa’s maid.
Still, if she’s appeared in comic and anybody can identify her with certainty, that would be nice.
@Guesticus Isabel was never a guy.
Anyway, Isabel is Peonie’s friend and Handmaiden.
@50srefugee Go back to when Typhan and Peonie first returned to the castle after being recused from Faden.
@50srefugee: Here you go, Isabel’s first appearance.
2011/02/17/it-did-happen-alot/
Wow – all of those archive pages around that time have got Peonie’s hair the wrong colour – sort of a brassy blonde.
Jake, thanks gobs.

Typhan-Knee doesn’t want to be a woman, he wants to be a man that’s also into dudes.
Like seriously, the only thing Typhan has accepted is that he has always been attracted to men.

Oh right, that Izzie
50srefugee: I only partially agree with you.
About the curse, sure. About Typhs old identity.. We don’t really know yet. I’m versatile myself, yet I almost never masturbate other than the ‘normal’. Typh could simply be not that self-aware of his desires. Also, While in his rape scene he was trying to dominate..

All this leads to: When did Peony ever submitted?
Did Isabel got turned into a man?!

Look at Olivia’s face , she is in shock.
Shock? Or desire? And who is the one in a state of undress?
I’m thinking that Olivia was about to tell Peonie that Isabelle is now the Queen’s personal maid–but something unexpected is happening with the Queen in Peonie’s old room. I suspect Theresa is not familiar with corset laces, but how this could be shocking to Olivia is beyond me.
