Swords, Sorcery, And Then Some!
Howdy, New Readers! Thanks for reading Exiern!

Exiern contains mature themes and is best for readers 18+.
I’m… not so sure how I feel about this. She’s being drawn in a way that reduces her curvature from previous depictions. She’s wearing a more modest outfit. She’s wearing flats. And… does that mean that literally every single outfit she wore prior to this was forced upon her at knife point? Did the knights she forced to sample her cooking efforts also force her to dress in a provocative fashion, with the apparent consent of the King?
Just had my relatives over for Passover seder, including my older brother and his family. My niece is in her early 20s. Her current physique is very similar to what Peonie’s was, in previous art. And my niece was wearing a minidress under a leather jacket. With flats. Because she wore what SHE wanted to wear. Nobody forced her. She also speaks her mind (which is awesome whenever politics gets discussed, because it’s wonderful to see the expressions of people who changed her diapers when she corrects them regarding misinformation and prejudiced beliefs). She is an intelligent, capable, and strong willed person, and neither her figure nor her choices in clothing (and hairstyle, haircolor, etc) make her any less so.
So I’m looking at this… and I’m thinking about an earlier bit where Peonie takes offense at Typh’s sexist opinions towards women. And how it was made repeatedly clear that Peonie was intelligent, sensible, and competent. She might have constantly been getting kidnapped… but that’s less about her and more about all the many, many, many enemies her father has.
(And before anyone says anything about “creepiness” or whatnot… 1: I never said whether I was an aunt or uncle. 2: I changed her diapers too. And fed her with a spoon. I made her go to bed after watching Telletubbies. I look at her and I feel pride and joy to know that what used to be a tiny little brat of a baby who would cry just to keep herself awake has become a brilliant and well spoken individual, who has made more than a few of her elders stare at her with eyes bulging and lips sputtering)
Don’t believe her curves have been reduced in any way
And yes, while she was ‘at home’, what she wore was forced upon her: by law and society, so now, when she is away from both, she is wearing what she wants, because once they return, she will, again, be forced to wear things she doesn’t like

At least she’s not claiming to be “princess of the world”, right?
What good is the flats if she is only going to run toward the monster.
That’d be “for’ard”, sailor.
So she will not Fall off the Boat and Drown Before Faden can Sacrifice her!
That outfit, GLORIOUS!
She deserves to be happy, for once 😀
Totally looking forward to see what outfit she has picked out for Typh now 😀
