    Stand Your Ground, Denver …

You are one of the main charter … you can’t die …
Mind you … you can get very badly hurt, though.

    @CPUGuy1 – Can’t die? I don’t recall his name being in the title…

    Sorry, can’t help a Bob & George reference. 😉

@CPUGuy1 and I recall a very good tv show (Apce, above and Beyond) that killed one of the main character every three of four episodes…

Though I would be sad if/when Denver dies

Yikes! Creepy dragon has creepy Joker-stalker eyes.

Maybe this dragon _is_ a doctor, for dragons. Once a dragon gets old enough, I’m sure he’d qualify for at least an honorary doctorate, in something. If only in exchange for a ‘generous donation’ from its horde.

OI! You’re talking mentally!!! No need to open your mouth in the slightest.

Exposed too early hu? I guess Denver has a way to go yet. I didn’t think there would be that much time between his sister’s and his own transformation, but looks like Denver might be sticking with the team for a bit yet.

What we should have noted in the last page is that Osir referred to this dragon by name, suggesting a certain sense of individualism. Otherwise it would presumably just be any old dragon in the collective, no more special from one to the next. “let me introduce you to your temporary terminal to the dragon collective Denver”

This temporary terminal looks like a veritable ADM-3A.

Ah, I finally understand it now. During the mingalow fight he didn’t get lost in his dragon half. The voice he heard , that was a brush with the hive mind.

So the Confusion a Whelp feels is not between the Human and the Dragon, it is between ME and THEM.

Wow, so there really IS but one All-Dragon, connected through a collective psychic consciousness! Who knew Faden was actually serious?

Or even more amazing, re: Fadens’ conversation, Tiffany got a blind hole in one by comparing squirrels and dragons.

Interesting. Does this mean that the previous dragon, back in the forest, was young? That would explain why (S)He attacked humans, (S)He wasn’t connected to the hive mind yet. However, why doesn’t the mind step in during situations like that? They obviously can since they contacted Denver.

It’s ‘collective mind’, people, not ‘hive mind’. They can share thoughts and feelings, while still having individual personalities.

DocSavage: you saying they can’t eat humans once they join the CollMind?

There is a big difference between stopping a young(?) dragon from having a meal, and helping a proto-dragon from becoming a meal to a Ming

Regarding Faden: like any real evil a!!!!!e, he never lies, but doesn’t tell the full truth either, that way, when the idiot ‘hero’/protagonist finally catches on, the villain can say “What took you so long? Been saying {whatever} since forever ago! You ‘good guys’ just never listen!”

Deanatay: there is nothing creepy about the dragon nor their eyes

There’s something creepy about opening a mouth full of rows and rows of teeth while you’re talking mentally.

The dragon in the forest was certainly younger. Supposedly they become (or I guess, can become) more ghostly in appearance as they get older. My personal guess is that Denver’s sister was supposed to get closer to some group of dragons before her permanent transformation begun. Tiff and a soldier certainly seemed to think the dragon was out of its normal territory, so I reckon they sent it to watch more closely over the fledgling dragon in the Forbidden Forrest while she changed.

You all are missing something very important. This page implies that dragons aren’t supposed to loose themselves when they transform.

@mike I was thinking that. Her transformation may of been forced way to early Do to her would be bandit rapists/Dragon snacks. The trauma might of left her unbalanced and might be there next Quest.

    @ Guesticus
No, I’m saying I don’t think they would. For one thing, it would make more sense to eat cattle or Deer or something. More return for less effort, and at their size they probably need a lot of food. Another reason would be that too many attacks on humans would cause the humans to find more secure homes, etc and get better at hiding. Plus humans are very ingenious, and could develop a way to hurt Dragons if they get too predatory. There’s a few other reasons, but it would take far too much room to explain them.

@DocSavage I agree but I bet a Deranged Dragon like Denver’s sister (if she deranged)might or the right sort of human might make the meal list, Say a personal Grudge. Eating the Evidence.

DocSavage: okay, understand you now: not that they can’t eat humans, just they choose not to, usually

Jonathan Wint: yeah, fairly sure they would not pass up a tasty human, depending on the circumstances, like the smart vampire doesn’t go around slaughtering humans and leaving traces behind
