“She” uh…Could it be mama? Cuz id wager he’d be able to recognize his sister even in dragon form, but he never came in contact with his mother

Nah, this girl is a wee bit young to be Denver’s mama. Barely an adult, really… with a hint of juvenile behavior.

Don’t have to be young to have a juvenile sense of humour, but you are the writer/artist (please forgive me, can’t remember which one you do :()

Ummm, why do you tease us by not showing what Denver is pointing to? (guessing maybe it’s a whole nest of dragons, or the guy they are going to ‘borrow’ the Magic Sword from)

    Called it.

Guesticus: he’s probably just indicating a general direction – their destination isn’t close enough to see.

Tiff said that people who approach this place blink, and find themselves on the other side of it. That sounds like memory erasure to me – they find the valley, pass through it, and their memories are promptly wiped. Hope our group can find a way around that.

*sigh* wait, I’m stupid. Of course they can find a way around it – it’s called “The Sword That Protects Against Magic, Like Memory Erasures And Stuff”.

Reaching for your sword when facing a dragon is kind of futile.

No Lurker not Futile in many cultures you only get into the After life Dieing with a weapon in hand!

I remember the first time they faced a dragon everybody, including Typhan-Knee, went running for cover because they knew they couldn’t fight it. Well, that is, everyone except Denver. He tried swiping at the beast and promptly got blown on his butt. So why would Typhan-Knee try pulling a sword now?

Instinct, really. That girl on the ledge took them by surprise (dragons can be stealthy). You notice she stops not even a quarter of the way through drawing the blade.

Why, in every superhero comic in existence, does the bad guy/gal throw their gun at the invulnerable hero after it’s empty? In the words of Crusader over at Love and Capes “I’ve never figured that one out.” [Instinct IMO. The Fight or Flight response. Of course I can’t rule out desperation.]

The same reason why, after emptying a gun’s load of bullets at someone, and throwing empty gun, the bad guy attempts to punch the bullet-proof hero in the jaw: on the miniscule chance said hero has a glass-jaw (or simply, better to go down swinging than cringing)

Deanatay: He isn;t just indicating a heading, he is saying that they are apparantly expected, which implies that he sees someone waiting for/looking at them (not counting the now-flown black dragon)

Just noticed something in panel 3, when Denver says “She did mean to give us a good scare though.” He narrows his eyes as thought to show anger and possible future payback

What I’m wondering (and I’m sure other people are, too) is why Peonie and Niels haven’t mentioned anything about Denver’s sudden “changes”. No talk about his beating a mingalow to death and no discussion about his apparent ability to understand dragon behavior. Hellllllllo? Do they not think this is strange?

    @ Raging…

Not sure why Peonie isn’t mentioning it…but Niels is still probably in shock that the Princess wants to be more than just helpless and decorative.

@DocSavage Why shoot at the superhero ? I Remember some were Superman the SilverAge one had been Exposed to I think Red K(or gold) and his Powers were stuttering And the guy shoots him one and Gives up. And just then he felt his powers give out(it would of killed him dead). Moral of the story you never know it be the one time you give up that Supermans powers are on the blink.(blinky powers are a common theme these days Green Lanterns are on the Flicker at the Moment. So ever face SuperMan Take the Shot ! You never KNOW!

@Ragingagnostic: “Do they not think this is strange?” Neils [sic!] has already stated that he considered it damn impressive. It was clear from Denver’s reaction that he had no clue (at the time) what had been transpiring.

Denver recognized being a dragon from a book common enough that he brought it as reading material. Neils is likely schooled enough with regard to magic folderol to figure out what’s up, too. After all, he’s pretty far up on the “tough to beat” ladder and so it’s his business to know the strengths and weaknesses of who’s in his vicinity or above.
