Hikaro: that is TOTALLY the king! He’s such a badass, he knew what the shapeshifter was up to before we even knew she was a shapeshifter. Probably. Or, something. He’s the king, don’t question him. He’s got his posse, and is ready to put her in her place.
She’ll probably try to kill the King, now. Which will fail. That, or try to act all innocent, which the king will see through.
On a side note, none of his knights are wearing their distinctive helmets. Is it because they were at a formal party, or a style decision by the artist?
@Grimghost, that’s a guy. He’s the same knight who foolishly spoke of “enjoying the view” a little too much regarding the princess’ outfit and paid for it. Oh yeah, that’s the king, and he is very NOT happy with the skin walker diplomat’s behavior.
Surrender would be a REAL good idea right now, lass.
Hooray! The king is here! He’s gonna be pissed when he finds out that Tiff let Peonie out of her sight with all those Gelateonies and other things prowling about. If he doesn’t know already.
Given the news the Deacon gave Urtica (when he failed him for the penultimate time), I doubt his Maj will be too upset about the Tiff/Peonie situation. He’s more likely to be happy the Tiff is now back to what passes for normal, and then send her out to fix it.
an excellent point Cryptic Mirror.
I’m sure that by now if the king hears of Peonie running around naked in the garden he’ll just go “And what shenanigans have you been getting up to THIS time and with whom?”
Is that title a Bob & George reference, or just general Megaman? I didn’t think anyone still remembered that comic!
Nice to see the king being competent and efficient, like always. I feel like I’m missing something here though. Exactly what plotting moment is he referring to here? Did they overhear the conversation in the treasury, or the corridor immediately afterwards, or was it a different moment?
I like to have fun making the titles to each page, and yes – the title of this one is indeed a Bob & George reference. It was really the first comic I regularly read online, and I thought the chance to reference it here was too good to pass up.
Be a Producer!Your name/title with an optional SFW hyperlink will be posted prominently HERE following the close of the month! You’ll also receive monthly mailings from Exiern’s author, Scott T. Hicken!
That’s not the king, is it?!
Ha ha, she got owned !!!!!
Yeah if you are gonna do something that is totally wrong and evil, at least try and do it right!

I’m a bit of a King fan. I admit it.

Who’s the woman beyond the king’s right shoulder?
If they’re skinchanger barbarians, I called it first.
Grim, that’s not a woman, that’s a Sha Gojyo cosplayer!

Surrender.
Or Running Away Very Fast.
About damn time the King came back.
Does the King know who she is already?? Interesting.

It’s hard to out-Evil the Evil King. He’s the King of Evil, after all.

Or maybe this is yet to be revealed?

@Calaron, or it could be the point where the helmeted knight walked in on them and got thrown out the window by a rather PO’d little Ctyx.
