OK, now Cytx is suspicious, and rightly so.
I mean, a teenaged girl, a room full of shiny, and she doesn’t want to try anything on?? She wants to leave??? Set her on fire, she’s a pod person. Any human girl would want to see if that gold necklace looks good on her pale skin, or if that sapphire matches her eyes. THERE WOULD BE ORGASMS. It is time to worry!
Ooh, asking a direct question while looking through the great big (insulting) book of endless exposition.

Or does him asking in such bold text mean he has already came across that passage unprompted and is getting angry already about being fooled?

I’m not sure which way that last exclamation is directed – toward the girl, himself, or the book. However, I’m fairly sure that’s Styx talking, rather than the book, because it’s connected to the speech balloon “Just help me look for…”, which wouldn’t make much sense for the book to be saying.

Maybe Ctyx is actually *reading* the book? It could be the book asking him who he is, because he’s a child with the hand of Faden. Just a thought.
Also my theory from earlier still has merit; if she were ‘dead’ and the bracelet is keeping her ‘alive’ then rubbing it would be natural, the same as rubbing a scar; an unconscious reminder of your own weakness.
Also, dibs on that chest. Everyone knows that upgrades, unique items and other good things come in mysterious chests.

I feel sorry for Cytx, he is being manipulated by so many people/things, I wonder what he really wants…
First, there’s Faden’s hand, drawing him towards his magic horde, in search of something to free him, or give him power, or something.
Then, there’s the Fracture, who manipulate the girl (or her image? not sure) to manipulate Faden to their own ends.
Then there’s the girl (can never keep her name straight), who cries and does other things to manipulate him, ’cause that’s what pretty girls do with boys they like. Admittedly, I don’t think she’s really ‘here’ right now, but if she were, she would be.
