I can see some interesting spectators in the background of the last panel. This will be nice.

NiXiA nailed it ^^ Comics like this are *made* for those moments.

Quick question though… in a world primarily medieval, with magic on it’s side… how does she know what a band-aid is? I always find those questions interesting.

But I can’t wait to see what said band-aid is going to do ^^

Hey, y’know, since they have novelty T-shirts (the one Tiff was wearing, oh, about two hundred or so pages back), I’d say band-aids are quite simple.

Okay, what I think Theresa said was “you need to get your s!!t together” and “I’m gonna give you a kick up the arse to make it happen”.

Seriously band-aids though? Okay, new theory based on that and the existence of Yaoi, Exiern takes place on a post-apocalyptic earth (clearly an apocalypse engineered by the all-squirrel to restore the forests we despoiled).

What happened to the temple guards who were carting Teresa off? They seem awfully…. relaxed in their duties.

I think the temple guards are lying down on the job. 😉

Maybe Tiff hit them harder than she thought? Nah. Probably just worried more about the guys in panel 4.

More to my interest, did Drowemos invent the word ‘pultonic’ just then, or did he misspell ‘platonic’? ‘Cause I know what the latter means, and it would make sense in this context.

Hopefully, Theresa’s Band-Aid works fast – looks like they’re gonna need Typhan-knee pretty soon!

Teresa has confirmed what many of us were thinking, while bringing up many spiritual and Jungian terminology. Essentially, she is talking about the post-modern dilemma that Tiffany faces of socially-constructed womanhood for her native culture and how she is not essentially tied to it but needs to adopt a new self-constructed (as much as one can be) concept of womanhood.

On another note, I love this scene, primarily for the friendship we can really see between Teresa and Tiffany. In this scene we are seeing how much Teresa cares and wants to help Tiffany, it becomes more evident that Teresa likes Tiffany but dislikes her native culture. This is not to be easily forgiven as it is pig-headed and rude, but it seems that Teresa can put aside her dislike of Tiffany’s cultural norms to help a friend. I also like that Tiffany isn’t refusing help and that she obviously sees Teresa as a friend too. I wonder if Teresa or Peonie will be Tiffany’s maid-of-honor at her wedding, hahaha.

I am curious what Teresa is going to do. My guess is that she is going to forcibly interfere with the recursive process she mentioned which is essentially a cyclic event in which Tiffany’s cultural views are shaping her which then in reinforce her cultural views. By placing a sort of barricade in the process she could possibly allow Tiffany to go on a path of self-discovery and self-identification. I do hope there aren’t any incredibly dramatic changes to Tiffany, I kinda like this Tiffany, though she is obviously going to be doing something since she is pushing Denver away, lest he end up as a woman.

Gratified to see that there is a way out of Tiff’s downward spiral – and also to see that it’s going to require a complete rejection of the cultural values that are fueling it. It will not be an easy journey – perhaps it will even be a lifelong journey – but it is a /possible/ journey. Liking Teresa more now.

Though I think the writer meant to say “Field” and not “Filed”

I can see sort of a transference of physical energies… Denver will get smaller and such while Tiffany regains her muscles..

They wouldn’t have ‘Platonic’ forms because greece isn’t in their past. ‘Pultonic’ could be the equivalent?

    1) About the ‘Band-Aid’ ™.
There’s an episode of Xena where Joxer says they’re on the same wavelength.
(“Been there. Done that.” The ‘Groundhogs’ Day episode.)
I explained it away as what we are hearing the modern English translation from ancient Greek.
He probably said (in Greek) ‘riding the same camel’ or something.

    2) The mind is a terrible thing to waste
What Terressa has to do is change Tiffs’ preconceptions of womanhood.
(In the movie ‘Shallow Hal’ (which I never saw) a guy is hypnotised into
seeing his obese girlfriend as stunningly beautiful.)
If Tiff saw women (including herself) as strong, assertive, independent,
self reliant, etc, etc then the self-fulling curse would adjust her physically to match.
(Hopefully without going overboard as in the episode of ‘Dave the Barbarian’ where
    Candy ODs on magic broccoli.)

It would be really really really bad if Denver gets turned into a female……Look at what happened to his twin sister…..

i think what Teresa really means as far as Denver is concerned is that she’s also putting a mystical band-aid on him to prevent him from fully becoming a dragon and keeping him as the smart and now strong sexy bookworm that he is :).

Denver — smart? Yes. Strong? Yes. Bookworm? Yes. Sexy? *Bzzzt*, I’m sorry, but that answer is >not< correct.

Or, somewhat less of a stretch would be her telling him that the “everybody stand back” included him. You know, seeing as she’s shoving him out of the way as she says it. 😉
