That almost makes sense.
If the princess is kidnapped no telling if the captors took advantage of her.
This would decrease her desirability for marriage.
Having her rescuer marry her solves several problems including the rescuer taking advantage of her.
Also.. having adventurers in the royal lineage might reverse genetic degradation.
(Literally new blood in the bloodline.)
Too bad Typh can’t contribute right now… unless there are princes we haven’t met yet.
Wait how/why was she kidnapped again? Faden needed her for a ritual or just for fun? Doesn’t seem like faden to kid nap a princess… Someone wanna refresh my memory?
I think I’m with Norman728 here. I don’t remember anything having been mentioned about Peonie’s Mom since the start of this. Can’t wait ’til Typh figures this one out…
I have to support Norman728 here and say that the king may have prepared in advance for this situation. If Peonie’s rescuer turned out to be a woman, it would be only natural that he would wish to fill the currently empty “queen” position on the throne.
Queen Typhan-Knee seems quite plausible. He’s already got her to babysit their daughter. And they share the same sense of humour. She just has to get used to life at the court before the king can make his move.

I’m guessing Peonie may have a brother or a male cousin who is of marriageable age… Or maybe the King is looking to get hitched? 😉
Or possibly the King was looking to marry off a different relative altogether… Hmmm… Now I’m really eager to see the next instalment!
I think it’s an old relic in a box. Literally just a hand of marriage.
What? We don’t know what the customs are here…
……A royal hand in marriage shall be your reward. Hmmm…….. I think I see where this can go……
QUEEN TYPHAN-KNEE!!!!
On the the third and fourth panel, the face of Poenie is pretty cute. Puppy Eyes

Maybe he wanted someone to marry her that he knew that would be able to protect her from being kidnapped again.

>Maybe< the king's enlightened. Maybe he intends to honor the original deal, even if it means the world's first same-sex royal wedding.
OH so meny possibilities and so meny way they can ALL go horribly wrong mehehehehehehehe this well be most fun.
Are they playing risk there?

I wonder how “Mace” is going to survive without a head or some other vital body part.

It’s not like its a legal binding agreement. Right? Right??? Hmm, or maybe his word is the law.

Jesus, is there any proofreading going on at all during production? Five typos in one page is a bit much, you think?
