And now you know the reason Denver chose that particular book for Tiffany’s lesson…

This will end in a kiss. Meanwhile, wouldn’t it be hilarious if Peonie seduced the guy in the big armour? Would the “I’m so cold, hold me” trick work on him? Seriously, aside from the all-around sluttiness, will Peonie ever get into a serious relationship? Questions, questions.

Ok, now I’ve got a question: what’s the idea with Denver’s glasses? The way they reflect and pass light makes quite clear that they are actor’s glasses, strength zero. Why is he wearing them? Vanity? Camouflage?

How long did he know? He could not exactly carry a whole library, and yet he picked lesson material covering compassionate dragon fledgling prose.

David: not ‘fake’ glasses, ‘comic‘ glasses

Looks like Tadpole has grown up to be a Bullfrog 😀
He took the confirmation extremely well, and great that he doesn’t hate Tiff, but why doesn’t he hate her for keeping it from him? Does he also know/suspect the dragon was his sister? If not, will he hate her when he does find out?

If they are correcting an astigmatism for reading there wouldn’t be much refraction (?) of the light from the glasses. I think refraction is the word, anyway, one of my daughter’s friends where glasses just to correct an astigmatism because it made it hard for her to read without the correction. She isn’t near sighted or far sighted, she just has an astigmatism, and her lenses are basically plain flat glass with a very slight curve only in the center area that you can’t even see, but you can notice it if you lay them face down on a flat surface.

Heh, Trust Denver the all knowing.

Now to let him know his sister Alicia is alive… if he hasn’t deducted that as well.

Hey! Just read back to when the southern dragon attacked and realized that Typh told him that Northern dragons are different. More like spirits. Maybe this is why they come up there to die.

So will we see a northern ice dragon? All spirit like?

Corrective lenses will also reflect light, depending on the angle. Just because there’s a curve to the lens doesn’t mean it doesn’t reflect, it just means it reflects at a different angle.

Wouldn’t mind it ending in more than a kiss. However that would lead to all types of weird if Tiff ever does get free from this curse.

That is a surprisingly mature reaction from Denver, the dragon hater. I suspect that he’s had a few hints of his true nature from the bouts of “acidental” super-human strength, ability to snuff out a magic fireball ball barehanded, and understanding the speech of the “fractured.”

Then again, it may all be just a big coincidence, and the works of Osir were scheduled to be on Tiff’s curriculum at this point anyway, and it;s just a giant coincidence.

Denver has matured a great deal. Perhaps Tiffany has too. Deciding to learn how to read and mustering up the courage to reveal the truth about his origins to Denver speak mightily in her favor. I wonder if she’s told him more about her own beginnings, her life as a male warrior, the unexpected change into womanhood and her future plans about getting changed back. I wouldn’t mind if she became a man again because I like man-on-man action. I feel it’s just something that needs to be discussed BEFORE they get into a clinch.

I hope against hope that there is some way Denver can maintain his Self despite the transformation…

Well, at one point of time dragons were labelled “hyperintelligent” killing machines. That would not seem to make sense in connection with them losing their intellect once they mature.

Of course, not just the personal memories and learning are relevant to what “one’s Self” is but also the interpretation of it against a hormonal backdrop. Just ask anybody who switches back and forth in a monthly cycle. If you think I am talking about werewolves here, think again.

Now a dragon will at some point of time supposedly become somewhat stable regarding the metabolistic and hormonal realities offered to whatever his primary thinking organ will be, so some aspects of his personality might slip into disbelief.

We humans know too well the “I have not ever really loved you” phenomenon that usually is as much a true part of the relater’s personal history as its counterthesis was at one point of time.

So in short: I think Denver will remember who he is and what he was. But maybe his perspectives about what it meant to him will shift.

It’s almost like a date already. All they need is a cozy dinner as they sit together staring into the distance at the End of the Universe. Hey, I hear they have a good restaurant there!

Oh right, haven’t really been a fan of the latest incarnation (stopped watching it after the Weeping Angel episode, the one where Song is a prisoner)

Thought the reference concerned the mug in panel 4

My tv stopped working in 2005 and I never had cable. So I hadn’t seen episodes of the recent regenerations of the Doctor until I started attending a certain bar in Brooklyn (you know the place). Then I only saw certain episodes out of sequence and over a room full of chattering people.

I tried watching on YouTube from Christopher Eccleston’s Doctor to the present but got only as far as the beginning of “Fear Her” before YouTube removed them. So I have no understanding about the DW reference in this strip. o.O

    So, here’s exactly why I named this page what I did;
(I think this is spoiler free)
For those unfaimilar with the series, in DOCTOR WHO – thanks to the Doctor’s Time Traveling – River Song and the Doctor have a relationship out of order. The quote “Spoiler’s sweetie” comes from River admonishng the Doctor to not read her diary. Because their timelines are out of order reading her entries would reveal to him information about events he has not yet experienced, but she is already aware of and keeping silent about.

Therefore, the idea that Denver had already figured out a secret about himself by reading a book before Tiff could reveal the information to him really felt as if he’d been reading “spoilers” about himself. Thus the quote for the title. 🙂
