I think I enjoyed throwing in my propensity for superfluous vocabulary in this page far too excessively.

    I am not sorry.

That’s OK, Tiffany, I know what the words mean individually, but I still don’t know what precisely the writer is banging on about.

I’ve dreamt of standing sword in hand and hacking through the scaled necks of winged beasts, till shrieking sleep departed me. “My child, be still” my mother smiled, and wrapping me in leathery wings she gently rocked me back to sleep.

That kind of progress is impressive… Time for Tiff to tell Tadpole a few truths now?

I think it means that we shape the world to suit our needs and in turn are shaped by it. The emergence of the Homo Genus coincides with the oldest stone hand axes ever found. Those are about 2.5 million years old.

One of our earliest ancestors is an ”Australopithecus afarensis” and she is called Lucy. I’m about 2’6″ taller than she was.

Wow. I’ve said it from the beginning. Tiff is NOT stupid. She is just uneducated. To go from “a few simple runes” to college level material in just a few months is a sign of a hidden deep intellect.

Before too long you will be able to read the Magic Answer Book yo have.

Tiff has always been one of the smartest characters. She might not be educated, but she isn’t stupid.

Would she have ever unlocked this ability as a guy?

    Don’t worry Tiff, most bloggers/commenters don’t understand what they type/write either 😛

Deceptobot: depends, did she need it as a male Barbarian (for lack of better name for her People)? And would she, as a he, have come in (friendly) contact with someone able (and willing) to teach him?

Question: will we get to see the full fallout from Denvers Ming-bashing?

    July 23, 2013, 4:38 pm | # | Reply

Guesticus: Yes. In fact, this scene deals heavily with that resolution.

To go even further, this scene is the start of pulling a lot of the threads I’ve spun together (and even some that Drowemos handed me). Not all at once, of course… but we’re entering the resolution phases.

‘Both subservient and dominant to the waking dreamer.’ That pretty much sums up both Tiff and Tadpole. In either order.

This is the most adorably understated romantic scene ever. And it’s an interesting parallel: We’ve seen violence creeping (er, leaping?) into Denver – now we see sophistication creeping into Tiff!

Sorry but there is growing evidence that Lucy (Australopithecus Afarensis) isn’t an ancestor of ours. The skeleton shown in all the books is made from pieces of skeletons found in the same area, and is mostly imagination. So much so that in 1978 Richard Leaky, one of the people that found it, stated they couldn’t even tell what species Lucy really is. Other remains have been found since then, enough that archaeologists now believe Australopithecus Afarensis was a primate but not one of our ancestors.

I’ve gone camping out in snow where survival is paramount. The way they have their camp set up they will all freeze to death before morning.

I was going off of what I was taught while growing up. If/that it’s wrong doesn’t surprise me.

@Guesticus: Got that right. You can tell who the second are by when they use words that have no business being in the sentence they said, or accuse someone of being a grammar/spelling nazi. Doubly when they accuse someone of being a grammar nazi on a spelling correction.

Yeah, that always makes me laugh: the ‘calling them out for a grammar error when it was a spelling error’ thing

Kinda like when people post that tnihg autob msesiplled wrdos and how yuo dn’ot need to konw how to selpl (the entire reason you can read it correctly is because you know how to spell)
