You know. Sometimes I forget that not every “good guy” in Exiern has godlike powers of avoiding death. This is…wow. Way to bring it home that this is serious business here…
I don’t quite get how being bitten by two rows of teeth set about the width of your torso apart would rip you in two parts with essentially no gap between the two parts.
@Drachefly – While I’m sure someone can come up with an explanation (do I need to start awarding “Exierno” Prizes?) the only reason I did not have it changed during the review stage was that I didn’t think the scene needed to be any MORE bloody…
It looks like Denver is clinging to the princess to me. And that death was totally unexpected. I thought he had nailed that mingalow for certain. Poor cat man.
Interesting factoid, in the script, I had it written out that the minaglow would just chomp Maraw in half and swallow the top part whole; but we were worried that readers would wonder what had happened to the rest of him, so Shipeng made a quick edit.
Yes, but Tad is resting his head on Princess P-cups p-cups (and he’s normally taller than her, so does that mean he is trying to motorboat before he dies? if not from Ming than from Tiff and/or P-cups when they find out :P)
@Guesticus I said even with the decapitated. Not that his is. But He will have at least 45 seconds of awareness a decapitated head gets…. There not enough torso to trigger the shock response, All blood rushes to brain knocks you out and heart stops. His heart might stop but he would have the 45 seconds. Its closer to a decapitated state than any other I can think of for working out his time before Death.
Nicework. I was totally left with nothing but disrespect and disregard for how deadly one of these things was made out to be and then it takes two sword length stabs in the back and still takes a bite out of kitty.
Ah yes! The rope! Tad would know from his reading that an intact coil of rope 20 feet or longer is the bane of all mingalo. If only they hadn’t cut that rope 🙂
Now we see the difference between an average cat creature and our heroes. He’s half the warrior they are…
@StSword 9 lives 45 seconds times 9 = 405/ 60= 60 seconds in minute =
Wow your right! 6 and nearly 7 minutes to Be alive torso!! Bet he is besides him self with Anger or at least Besides him self with him self…
@Dracherfly, look closer. The Hanzelo’s abdomen is gone, and quite a bit of flesh from the chest is ripped off. My guess is that Mr. Mingalow’s teeth skidded off Mr. Hanzelo’s ribcage with incredible force, sending that part of the corpse flying.
Be a Producer! Your name/title with an optional SFW hyperlink will be posted prominently HERE following the close of the month! You’ll also receive monthly mailings from Exiern’s author, Scott T. Hicken!
Well, that’s unfortunate…

Did that Catguy just get made into a Redshirt? Or worfed?
He got Mauled … Too Soon????
Eeewwww! Catman blood all over Niels’ coat and armor.
Well, Tiff called it. Our poor Hanzelo was sent out to die, and die he did.
Half the cat he used to be…

It’s just a flesh wound.
No firebreathing yet but it seems the Mingalow can also salivate acid.
@Aimee stole my line! So how about I say
Thats one way to neuter a cat but they took a little to much off the top.
Wait, is the `Pole seeking comfort form Princess P-cups? O_o
Time ta Dragon Up, ya wuss!!
No, she’s glomphed on to him.
Poor Murrow. Seemed a decent bloke. We hardly knew ye.
Wait, doesn’t red blood burn and dissolve the monster? Seems only fair.
And so the non-human dies immediately while the “valiant” humans continue to survive in the face of improbable odds…
Humans?
*cough* Denver *cough*
It looks like Denver is clinging to the princess to me. And that death was totally unexpected. I thought he had nailed that mingalow for certain. Poor cat man.
Well, mebbe so.
Moireaux might have missed. His blades sure came out clean.
Interesting factoid, in the script, I had it written out that the minaglow would just chomp Maraw in half and swallow the top part whole; but we were worried that readers would wonder what had happened to the rest of him, so Shipeng made a quick edit.
Ok if anyone has some magic now would be a good time to use it!
Scale sort of changed there for that bite in half, but otherwise cool.
Wait, what? Did it get bigger or did the tigerman shrink?
is one of its powers that it intentionally keeps changing size constantly or….
That was a level of violence I was not expecting.
Cat boy must have not settled well on the minaglow’s stomach, I think he is about to hurl.
Fur balls?
You know even decapitated live aware for 45 seconds!! So the good news is he is not dead yet! The bad news IS hes not dead yet…..
Looks like Ming is drawing in breath in the last panel
Technically jonathan, Furdinand didn’t get decapitated
Maybe Denver and the Princess are equally glomping each other in fear. There sure is enough terror sweat there for two people…
S!!t just got real.

Someone mentioned breathing fire?

Not to worry, catmen have nine lives!
See, I am sure they would have been fine if they still had that rope. Now people are getting bitten in half.
Ah yes! The rope! Tad would know from his reading that an intact coil of rope 20 feet or longer is the bane of all mingalo. If only they hadn’t cut that rope 🙂

It looks like the princess is alright.

@Red, that “saliva” is actually poison.
@Uhl yep total ruined what Fur there is left for skinning. Poor Peonie!
Well here I thought he’d be significant
