That cat had to change trajectory mid flight a lest twice to land where he did. And on that note, the scene were Barbra gets shot in the Killing Joke would require here to have change trajectory at lest four times and have her cover the distance of her living room to land on that table.

Killing joke bother you with batman? What irritates me is all the hard core fan boys that want Cat Woman to be able to see in the dark Smell pheromones eat Mice And Jump 50 stories straight down to land on high heals unharmed! BC its intrinsic to the character ,witch I even agree with to some Extent. But then the same nits in the same breath insist she not Super powered has no Superpowers and Is not crazy ether! Jump even 5 stories and the only bone you do not break is the one in the middle ear…The rest they use Snow Shovels to Get up! As for eating mice and the other cat obsessions sorry that is nuts… She most of the time never goes to Arkum despite the fact she is the only Villain that has a Legitimate Legal insanity not medical ! Joker might be crazy but his Judgement Legally Sane as is Poison Ivy and the others. But Catwoman has a clear Cat Compulsion that in the real world world be Medical Lycanthropy( not supernatural but a condition wear some one so obsessed with a Animal they are compelled to act like it) Loss of control and Moral judgement.She a text book Legal defense.She would not even get a trial! But Nine in ten times she goes to a regular jail! Yet other Villains like Killercrock instead of getting Executed go to the nut house despite there not even slightly legally incompetent ! I mean he just a Metahuman with bad Skin! So my point is do not look for Logic in a comic .. You will be looking many years and get eye strain!
We can ignore logic about trajectory and leaps and all that, especially with cat-like creatures. Their spines twist in mid-air if you hold them by the paws and drop them. (I saw that once on a PBS special about felines.) But where DID he get his weapons? Did he kill some other travellers and steal their swords? And what is happening with Peonie with all this? Is she still smoking with acid or has someone stripped her already?

Trajectory change not needed. The pov is simply panned around to depict the action from another direction. IMHO, that is.
The sword could have been an option if they met the mingalow after they got it. He is probably a fast runner with these long legs and knows the area. So I don´t think retreat would have been an option. Even if he flees, he got some power to turn himself invisible or so. Wouldn´t be surprised if he also got fast healing or so.
It seems that the mingalow is unable to talk and he surely isn´t a reasonable fellow. So talking him out of killing them wouldn´t work probably.
And it´s a good question if the blade would actually work. The brother is possessed, could be that the balde can dispel magical curses but is unable to drive out demons. It´s a Traveler blessed weapn after all. The demons were servants of the Travelers. If the blade was blessed before the demons rebelles it wouldn´t work probably. Why bless a weapon to work against your own guardians. If it was a later work, perhaps it would work but it´s more or less a wild guess.
Also it could be that the sword doesn´t work like “hold this for a moment, bamf, uncursed.” Could take time or it´s powers are depleted or it can do it only once a year, decade or century. Another possibility could be that the sword only works his magic on one person it considers its proper wielder who has gone through a trial or needs to be accepted by the blade as its owner in some other way. So t only works for one person at a time. A sword is an odd choice for an item if it´s supposed to be some kind of mass decurse device. A religous icon, a chalice or something similar would be more appropriate.
So it seems to me too big of a gamble to retreat from the fast, nearly invulnerable monster that can follow you on his home turf quite easily (snow, minimal snowfall =easy to see tracks) because you could decurse him perhaps if the legends are true and you actually find the thing that can perhaps exorcise the demon if you are able to get the mingalow to pick it up and hold it whic is rather unlikely..

Anther thing is he is undead so if u undo the curse, would he just change into a bead body?
When we first met him, Mr. Hanzelo had those swords in his possession. It is safest to assume that when he was freed by Tiff, they were somewhere off panel, just far enough away that Tiff and Co would walk away while Mr. Hanzelo went to fetch them.
