Wow, I’m glad you clarified that! I was afraid that maybe Exiern was going to turn out to be a part of the Mighty Marvel Universe or something…on the other hand, the Beyonder (the one with the jheri curl) could probably break the curse without blinking! :giggle:
@Mellissalynn – True! And I’m actually a very big fan of THAT Beyonder…Secret Wars II is one of my guilty pleasures…like a terrible movie you’ll always sit down to watch when it is on TV.
@DanStanding: Right? :giggle: Nothing like watching a train wreck unfolding right before your eyes… I have to share my theory on who the Beyonder looks like, since we’ve gotten ontot his subject. I seriouslybelieve that they modeled him from David Hasselhoff! Think about it: KNight Rider was big at the time SW II came out… 🙂
‘Worlds Edge’ might not be a literal edge (like in that 3rd Pirates movie) but possibly just an insurmountable mountain range (kinda like they have in Forgotten Realms), specially when Furdinand talks about an avalance
Wouldn’t it be neat if his brother was still buried under the ice, and this turns out to be re-hash of the “Pheonix Saga”? (feel free to substitute ‘neat’ with ‘totally lame-balls’ as you see fit)
Fairportfan: A lot of its inspiration is based off of the Native American myths of the Wendigo. It was a pretty common campfire story in the Midwest as I was growing up. So I kinda giggled at the chance to adapt it for my own use.
Peonie still hasn’t gotten a chance to explain that she made up the mingalow when she was held prisoner by Faden. I dislike that kind of drawn-out exposition where all could be made clear if they only let somebody speak.
Be a Producer! Your name/title with an optional SFW hyperlink will be posted prominently HERE following the close of the month! You’ll also receive monthly mailings from Exiern’s author, Scott T. Hicken!
Is a mingalow like a wendigo?
Actually, on further thought, it’s probably more like a retcon.
A beyonder? Does that mean Tiff will have to dress like a Magical Girl again to lure it out?

“That is when the beyonder took hold…
and my brother emerged as a mingalow”
heh… he’s a poet, and didn’t even know it…

Wow. Now the story is REALLY getting good. “Got too close to the world’s edge” EESH. Exiern is a “flat” world?

One question: how do they know it was his brother that become Mingalowed?
Fairportfan: A lot of its inspiration is based off of the Native American myths of the Wendigo. It was a pretty common campfire story in the Midwest as I was growing up. So I kinda giggled at the chance to adapt it for my own use.
Guesticus: That IS A good question, isn’t it?
Being Tigers, I’d say body markings. 😛
Guesticus if they are like Windigo Canabalism.
Guesticus If they are like Windigo cannibalism.
Sorry I misread your question

Well, Tiff seems to know that. After all she is referring to Faden, right?
Peonie imagined it Faden made it real. Not sure who cast the spell to make it part of the generally accepted knowledge.
Just a note: Avalanche is mispelt Avanlanche in the middle row, right column. Otherwise, thank you for the comic!
