Typhan-Knee has a mother? (Well, duh.) BUT will we meet her? How will she and Girl-Tiff relate to each other?

    @GrimGhost
Did you see the look of the cook in the last panel? That’s a clear sign of flashback and every character introduced in a flashback has 80% mortality rate.

I wonder how could anyone believe that women are slaves with that woman in charge of the female part of the tribe.

Does this imply that Typh’s the son of a slave? Hmmm….

Sluggy: It was mentioned in a past comic that Tiff’s mother was kidnapped and raped, thus producing him. Being a male-dominated society with kidnapping and raping tendencies, I suspect that your father determines your status a lot more than your mother does.

@Sluggy. Typh may well be Neil’s niece/nephew. It would be a small wonder that a woman facing that treatment would have any other viewpoint than woman=slave. Besides, under the “foreigner purge” by Melan Knee, she most certainly was murdered too.

Sooo. Every character in a flashback has an 80% mortality rate. So then we get to meet Typh’s mom 80% dead. Wonder how that is gonna look.

And Chibione… I promise I will kill you off last. Not because I like you, but because I want to see your eyes as I break your life piece by piece and leave your shattered dreams to rot as unto carrion.

*cough* I mean… you have nothing to worry about, dear girl.

Of course she did, she would know him as a male. I don’t think anyone’s even told her anything to hint that Tiff’s changed.

She astute that’s for sure. But…10 bucks on she was Tiff’s babysitter/caretaker and that’s why she caught on so quickly

Let’s see. Kidnapped, raped, having said rapitst’s kid that you had no say in the matter on, not allowed to leave, got to do as you are told. Kinda sounds like slavery to me, however you want to candy coat it and say the men listen when you bitch them out.

I for one like the way you’ve muddied up the moral waters. Many do the thing where the enlightened, polite, honorable, civilized race is also the multiracial one. You have a multiracial society with questionable ethics, led by an honest man that is a jerk, and filled with people who are as sharp as brick bats on one side. On the other you have a mono culture of people who are at least superficially polite, enlightened, and as honorable as a poisoned dagger. It’s anybody’s guess who the bag guys are or if there are any good guys.

Given the dramatic close-up in the last comic. I thought there was going to be much more reprimanding in this comic, rather than “dinner at dinner time; get out.”

    ~
It could be that women born to the tribe have more influence, explaining a differing perspective between Typhan-nee’s mother and Grina. Or maybe having grown-up with rights below those of the men, Grina sees the differences as more normal/natural without having a different society to compare hers to.

Either way, age and ability seem to factor into a tribe member’s authority, for both genders.

@Jay thats my point. The guards are not talking nor is the brother. Village is way to small for gossip not to get around and they been there long enough to unpack. So its being kept quiet. Question is why? Shock, Embarrassment or some other reason.

@Jay, dragondeathlord: Grina actually knows of the curse, but it’s a force of habit thing that caused that particular pronoun usage.

Besides, they still would. Curses don’t change your gender any more than somebody unable to remove a “cursed belt of genderbending” would be thought of as female by any who actually know him. Unless his party is being dicks to annoy him specifically

@ yo “YMMV disclaimer” missing from your post.

Also, if you are playing a campaign and your party and DM is not being a dick to annoy you, then you aren’t paying enough attention, do another spot check.
