RE: the comic – in some cultures, pregnancy is considered an improvement in health.. 🙂

(I’ll probably get smacked for that…)

I wonder if that meaning is like, her body reacting to it, so she must want it, kind of thinking.

Inigo: Probably he means no *harm*
Fezzik: He’s really very short on *charm*

The poor young maiden was suffering great harm in solitary confinement lacking the charms of a big strong man. All her life she had been tormented by the lack of real manliness around her, only wimpy city men who could not please her.

It was hard work and he was tired, but someone had to do it. So he began talking softly and stroking her just he would with a young horse. She slapped him which meant she desperately needed more, quickly.

It had been a hard days work already and it looked like a hard nights work as well, he wondered when he would ever get some sleep.

Yeah Peonie, see there is “harm” and “legitimate harm”. Don’t worry, if it is the latter your ovaries will magically produce a forcefield that keeps you entirely safe.

Gotta say…the archives are impossible to navigate.
It takes forever to find anything. The categories are not arranged chronologicly… Maybe some re-ordering and optimization is in order.

@Picolo, I suspect he was referring to how a barbarian bull would rationalize how he wouldn’t be doing Peonie any harm.

I dunno, but I think it was on election materials in Texas.

@Picolo – yes, dark humor on how barbarians from this tribe may sell “pushing their charms on [Peonie]”

On Texas, I think the controversial guy is claiming rape is bad but if the victim gets pregnant the pregnancy itself is not bad. (not blame the potential child for what the father did)

There were actually a couple of controversial guys in Texas. One of them was (trying to) claim that rape is bad, but the pregnancy itself is not bad, and just used really bad phrasing, but the “legitimate rape” guy claimed that pregnancy was proof that the woman actually wanted it and it wasn’t actually rape.

@Jay, I just read up on the other guy… his wording is more along lines of much less likely for a woman to get pregnant if raped.

The secondary issue of false claims… I personally know of one guy who was falsely accused of rape by daughter of his neighbour because daughter wanted to deflect from her own problems, only admitted she lied minutes before trial was set to start and really messed up the guys life (he had wife and 4 kids and school photographer, police sent letters to schools warning about him).

I know of another case where the teenage girl sitting beside me explained how she accused her mother of abuse to get away from stricter control of life, she afterwards made up with mother and was mad at divorced father after father was proud of her for getting pregnant.

Issue goes both ways, yes rape is bad but false accusations are also bad if I had choice I probably would go with being raped compared to being falsely accused. (Falsely accused the actual nightmare lasts for much longer, and less support)

(the falsely accused guy came close to suicide, did end up bipolar in mental hospital for a while)

Point is a Society like the Barbarians IS Clearly EVIL. As it’s clearly unbalanced comparable to say Victorian England or some Muslim countrys. (not all Some) I know some Muslims that would protect there daughters(take there word) And Castrate the Rapist.
But interestingly Enough there were a few barbarian societies were Rape was no worse than being Beaten and a few were it was a legitimate form of courtship. Mainly Because there was no one was Stigmatized for it. There were a few Native American Tribes that Never Raped invaders Because By tribal law it was part of Marriage courtship, If you could not defeat your wife on the marriage night she did not want you. There were European Pagan festivals were women in costume and masks were Chased And Raped By Guys in Pan Masks (this was midwinter I.E. Christmas the week of Pan) There a tribe in south America that did the same thing. But these were all Religious Fertility Celebrations with no shame.
But No the Barbarians of Exiern seem only concerned Domination and Humiliation Very Modern Civilized Rapists Not Very Pagan/Barbarian at all.

dragondeathlord, actually the victim would most likely be stoned to death to preserve the family honor and the criminal would get off on a fine paid to the family in many islamic countries. And that’s only if the victim can bring 4 witnesses because her word alone doesn’t carry enough weight.
