    King Urtica is so wonderfully evil. 🙂

    Peonie has been DISSED by her own father! See how p.o.’d she looks in the penultimate panel?

    Hehe, knowing Peonie this method will work in 95% of the decisions, and terribly backfire in the 5% she decides in anger/lets Tiff decide. ^^

    I love the exchange where Tiff and Peonie try to out-sarcasm each other.

    If Peonie wants to bitch and slack off from her job, then her dad has got it covered. A1 parenting there Urtica (this message was brought to you by the Gendo Ikari Parenting Advice Council). More seriously though, Peonie has shown repeatedly that she has little respect for her father, little respect for the responsibilities of her role while doing the best to enjoy the perks of it, and little intention to work to change it. The King has to worry about this stuff, especially if he thinks Peonie will just give orders to spite him.

    I love that Denver is back, and I love the way he is side-eying Peonie as she complains about work. Looks like Urtica isn’t prepared to indulge Tiff with the usual fun and games either in the last panel. He seems down right testy.

    I would love it if it turned out that Peonie’s orders were excellent. So many good things you can do with such a scene.

    “We did as you commanded, your majesty…Peonie ordered us to check and make sure that the wizard Fayden was still trapped, so we sent someone to get him out.”

    I was wondering about that, Peonie isn’t a total idiot, she’s just… silly. So if she said something sensible…

    @CrypticMirror:

    I would assume it’s probably because what ever he has to discuss with Tiff, is probably urgent/Important/Serious.

    @Eric

    Silly isn’t the correct word to describe Peonie. Lazy works best to describe her. Like Mirror said, she doesn’t take her job seriously and show little respect for her role. So i doubt she said anything sensible and the King was right in taking that precaution.

    So the Barons are ordered to the opposite of what Peonie says.
    Peonie might give the opposite orders to her better judgement in order to annoy her father.
    Her better judgement, while probably suitable tyrannical, isn’t always very good.
    Equally she might occasionally receive, and listen to, good advice.

    They now all know this.

    Let the double bluffing commence!
    I really want to know what the King’s instructions will be when he next departs for a while…

    What is Denver staring at in panel 3? It looks like he’s judging something.

    I know you all probably suspect this, but I’m running pretty much on the assumption that her father purely was being sarcastic. I mean how little faith in his heir does he have?

    Yay Chibiern! I never feel bad for advertisers, though. They deserve their misery.

    @deanatay: Advertisers help keeping Exiern going by paying money to advertise here. And some of the ads I see are for other webcomics. I don’t really see why they would deserve any kind of misery.

    @Ben:

    No, i it’s pretty clear that he has no faith in her as an heir. He wanted to marry Tiff to produce a new heir after all.

    He tries to show her responsibility, but it’s clear Peonie doesn’t take her job seriously. Right here she’s complaining about doing what is expected of her.

    We’ve also seen her trying to abuse her powers a few times before too, Denver even called her out once.

    Apropos of nothing much, memebase gives us a picture of young Urtica:

    Once you see it, you’ll never unsee it.
