That is one thing I had never gotten, you have a person pinned down, they toss sand or dirt in your eyes, why do people step back instead of I don’t know, punching where they know the guy is pinned at?
Too much talking, too little action. When someone sneaks in your room but you have the advantage, you don’t give it away by starting some discussion about how the intruder failed. You smack it down and disable it, talk then if you want. Or when you chase the bugger down and knock the fella off the feet, then again one doesn’t start another talk about what is planned and how it will be done. Smack in da kisser, disable, grab the mask and later talk. But I guess Tiff’s male reflexes are diminishing and girly stuff like “talk too much” is taking over…
The anatomy in the fourth panel is really off.
@Veld — it’s one of the rules of fiction. A variation of the rule compels all cops to go into dangerous places without backup, all teenage babysitters to investigate strange noises in the attic without calling police, and all Bond villains to run their mouths when James Bond is captured and is quote-unquote helpless.
@Rhemora – actually, first off, that looks more like magic than sand/dirt (the sparkles give it away), and either way, Tiff isn’t flinching.
As to why people step back – unless you condition yourself otherwise, threatening just about any land animal’s eyes will cause it to flinch back, its a natural defense mechanism to preserve eyesight.
Ah, the old “face full of pollen” attack, always a trump card when facing people with hayfever. Or bees, giant bees.
It is, but I give the artist credit for even TRYING to draw that pose. I’m not sure I’d have the guts.
Is it just me or is that guy getting a real nice view of Tiff’s southern area, as I think one panel on the previous page or so showed she was naked under the shirt.

This time, Tiff is trying to interrogate the bastard every time there is a lull in the battle.
Sadly, this is something she is not good at, considering the Northern approach is fight, kill, loot, repeat.
@Rhemora @Olinser when dust or something more painful like hot pepper or hot ashes fly in to your eyes it is an involuntary reaction to move away. Yes if you trained and expecting it you can stop yourself but it is tough.
I give the writer points for accuracy this time. I don’t see a need to invoke the plot needed it.

Yea, that fourth panel is really creeping me out. Besides the horrible inhuman anatomy, that underwear seems to have appeared out of nowhere. I am pretty confident she didn’t have it before or after that panel. I love this comic, and been following it for years, but I really wish they would stop doing things like that.
That underwear has been drawn on Tiffany since I saw the original lines last month. And I can assume that position – thanks, yoga.

your voting picture won’t load on both IE, firefox and chrome. they both give a broken image image
When people say “voting picture” are they talking about the Peonie head-shot (or the TopWebComics banner) at the top of Exiern.com on the right of the page under Exiern Challenge? I’ve tried viewing the site on multiple computers, smartphones, and locations, and I cannot duplicate the issue on FireFox or IE (Chrome is the only one I don’t have access to). It’s hosted exactly the same as every other image on Exiern.com so I cannot think of any reason why it alone would be giving people an issue. But if it is causing an issue it is driving me crazy that I don’t know how to fix it!
Is there some other voting picture elsewhere that I’m unaware of?

No, I don’t believe you can do that, yoga or not. She is doing a vertical splits with each knee rotated in completely opposite directions. I am pretty confident that this would be impossible without dislocating a hip first.
Secondly, concerning the panties, just look at every cell in the previous pages. Her pink nightie appears to be conveniantly long enough to cover everything up while still making you wonder if she indeed has anything under it. And then there is the cell after jumping out the window, with a clear crotch shot. It’s dark for obvious reasons, but there is no pink panty coloring in there. This one-single-image with panties just sticks out way too much. It wouldn’t be an issue if you had just shown her panties a few times on previous pages.
Or better yet, just leave them out completely, and put an inconveniant chat bubble or something there, so that we all know what we’d suspected up to this point (that she isn’t wearing any).
Maybe a convenient “BAM!” over where the panties used to be, a la Batman?

I see panties in the dark, of Tiff’s t-shirt, that you don’t is just a sign of how much of a perve you are.
Equally the anatomy you’re bitching about is all down to motion being show in a static comic. It’s just that the two legs are actually shown at different points in time, so you can see the motion of the throw as your eye scans down the page.
@JMV as someone pointed out in the chatbox, the problem with the “what is she wearing, anything?” in the last panel of the last comic appears to be the speed lines gave an impression of a hastily sketched version of anatomy. Which as the bunch of pervs we are, we interpreted in a certain way. I admit falling for that myself. Having gone back and looked, I can see what was going on, and think it probably would have been better without the speedlines, because then you’d see it was more a standard comic book “thigh in front” landing, that even Marvel and DC use to block the artist having to draw bulges or camel-toes (depending on the sex of the character). If you go to your local comic store and pick two or three comics at random you’ll probably see some examples.
@DanStanding: When you successfully vote on TWC you end up on a page which does show the Exiern banner in a box with some text saying how you’ve successfully voted. (Or how a vote has already been registered from your IP address, but you still see the same thing.) Right beneath that box there’s a ‘broken/missing image’ icon where normally a vote incentive image would be shown as a reward for voters. So it looks as if there once was such a reward*, but the linked image is long since gone from whatever location it was linked from, so all that remains is a link on TWC trying to show the missing image. If you don’t want to show a vote incentive you should be able to simply go into TWC and change your settings so that no vote incentive is linked. That ought to remove that ‘missing/broken image’ icon.
* I think the vote incentive used to be a line art preview of the upcoming page. Personally I didn’t care about that, but it didn’t stop me from voting.
Ah, thank you, I was unaware there was ever an incentive posted to TopWebComics, as I also don’t seen any such broken link when I vote. But I’ve logged into the system with info that Drowemos gave me and “cleared” the old cache there so that is hopefully fixed.

Wow I can’t believe you guys are argueing with me on this. First of all, please don’t call me a perv, I am just a friendly long term visitor, and one who does NOT feel the need for VIP access to enjoy this comic. I actually wish they would stop with the nudity gimick and just focus on the spoofy story which is what’s really made this comic successful.
Second, concerning the panties, I cannot figure out what you are talking about. There aren’t any shown in previous images. The crotch shot after she jumps out the window is 100% flesh tone color. The panty shot on the following page shows a distincty red pair of panties. “Motion lines” or shadows, whichever you prefer. That image may be dark, but the coloring doesn’t lie.
And thirdly, while I am not a professional artist myself, I do know that you don’t draw someone’s entire body at different stages of time, for reasons like this one. It looks weird and is misleading. If THAT’s whats going on here, then there should be a shadow image of her right leg where it had been a second ago.
Now please understand, I am not trying to be the badguy here. I am not some kind of perv trying to fabricate things that aren’t there. I am also not trying to tell you how to do your job. I am just telling you what I see, and that one single cell looks weird. That’s all. I am also not the first person to point it out. Wether or not you take this feedback into consideration going forward is up to you.
Let me clarify, that last paragraph is meant to be directed at the people who operate Exiern, not necessarily M or CrypticMirror, who unless I am mistaken don’t actually work on the comic. Wish there were an edit button here.
I zoomed up to %400 in previous strip and take a close look. Although it is shadowed panties lines as well as its indications are at there or typahanee is shaving very frequently.
@DanStanding: Just so you know, I’m still getting the broken image icon, so whatever you did over at TWC didn’t seem to work. Not even sure what “clearing the old cache” means, but I suppose it would make sense if vote incentives are set to be activated at a specific time, and those activation commands would be stored in a cache. Maybe there’s a setting for a permanent/”until further notice” vote incentive somewhere?
