Is this the crossover with Wolverine I was mentioning a few strips ago, that guy has Wolverine hand-claws. Boy these Wolverine crossovers are getting extreme. I wonder if we can get a Deadpool one next?
If Peonie screams whenever she needs rescuing, how does anyone get a solid night’s sleep?
Love the use of the word Thaumaturgist. Excellent word.
@Cryptic. Actually those are not “wolverine” claws. Wolverine’s come right out from the bones under the skin in his hands. OUCH. No those are shinobi grapplers. Used primarily for climbing, although they are quite useful in a fight.
I’m going to guess that its Grandad Mackenzie as well.
She could probably have him thrown in the dungeon this time… But his poor grandaughter would be very sad.
I wonder how much Denver’s development has progressed in this time passed.
I’m willing to bet that these “deeper dreams than he can perceive” are something serious about the white magic’s reasons for manifesting as a sex changing spell and possibly even a hint at some deep, internal struggle between Tiffany’s will and the will of the spell.
It’s an anime reference, but It should really be one big drop. It appears on the head on characters in Anime when the character is listening to something they really don’t want to hear or bothers them. (Because Peonie feels responsible for Tiffany’s “condition”)
Then he is part of a group of cowardly morons that will only attack those that wont seek retribution on them. Hypocritically denying a group or person their right to free expression, while declaiming their right to free expression. As if you have the right to squelch someone just cause they don’t share your opinion. A fairly common trait in the hypocritical left. You have the right to free speech as long as they approve of what you say, if not, they squelch ya. P!!s on them
Is it just me, or is Tiff’s hair still longer than it was before the whole “assimilating into a female archetype” thing? Has she not completely reverted? Or is she slipping again?
Kind of hope that’s the case. It was an interesting wrinkle to the plot. I hope it’s not just randomly dropped.
@Sleel Please don’t talk about stuff you have no clue about. Anonymous has gone after people that will and have responded such as the federal government for breaking the law. And don’t bring any of that Left Right stuff here either because their both equally corrupt and uncaring about the people.
It seems quite obvious to me — with the hints of the past coming back, and the claws which are replacing a missing hand — that the climber is, in fact, Faden.
I think he’s an old acquaintance of Tiff’s from the old days who’s not aware of the changes in her life. When they meet up, he’ll reveal some information that will send them, including Peonie, on the road into a new adventure.
Everyone seems to be looking at the distraction. If you notice, the “curse” has a few common traits:
1. It was white-magic that caused the malfunction in the first place.
2. The Thaumaturgist, Priests, etc. can’t, for some reason, disarm it fully-or in some cases, at all, and suffer major backlash when trying to brute-force a solution.
3. “Typhan-Nee”‘s transformation seems to have gone all the way down to Glandular AND psychological levels.
4. The “White Magic” of the change seems to be adaptive-that is, now that it’s set on a course, it defends itself-this is unusual in most depictions of magical effects.
Hypothesis: “Typhan Nee” was born a girl, and was TURNED male, via Magical means, at a young age. Possibly her family couldn’t produce a male heir and were owed a favour or somesuch by a sorceror or something. Naturally not something the family in question would discuss. The interaction of the “Death spell turned white magic” may have resulted in an “Overcorrection” effect.

I’m going to laugh if that’s the old man busting in just so he can deliver his DOOM directly to Peonie.
What’s with the water on the back of Peonie’s head in the third frame?

It’s a member of Anonymous come to hack their system. 🙂
@Frith Ra, one of the ones who is really an FBI agent?

“Scream if you need me” …LOL, she probably will.
You may be surprised and find that the guy in the mask is not popping in on Peonie but will be visiting Tiff.
@ riniko22
After what Tiff did to the other ones…I’d giggle like Denver.
And is it me…or does Peonie look a little younger?

@Hipiap
She’s had a chance to really clean up by now.

Incidentally if you are wondering what Peonie’s dress here looks like in real life[tm] then see it here:

To Shai – in the last panel I see two hands, one under each set of claws.
The Perv in me wants to see Peonie go to bed with Tiff and Denver…
