If anyone is interested, this page was originally interpreted and drawn with a different result for Tiffany in the last panel. The original lines have been posted in the http://www.escarchive.com/
I’ve decided to change my shipping preferences based on this strip. I now totally ship Theresa/Tiffany. Well, maybe Theresa/Tiffany/Denver, maybe…
I wish I had a skirt made out of that material though. Got caught in my car door the other day and ripped it, and not in the sexy way. Well, technically it was in a sexy way, because it was on me and I’m always sexy (and no one try to talk me out of that delusion please).
I do have to ask, if Tiff is really believing that Theresa can do magic runes, why is she face-palming?
I think the dress is plain old silk, samurai lined there Armor with it bc it stops Arrows. Most silk now days is reconstituting manufactured crap. But real unprocessed silk is Stronger than Steel like Spider Silk not as strong but still very tough. Stains easy but dose not rip.If its Silk Tiff would have never encountered it and would have better luck ripping Chain mail.
then again this is a fantasy setting So it might be Spider silk! In witch case It will not rip no WAY!
I think Tiff knows Theresa is yelling at her, but not what about, and thinks Theresa’s getting herself worked up for battle, ‘cuz, that’s what Tiff would do.
Those dresses are amazingly durable, as I’ve stated before. Carbon nanotubes? Silksteel enchantment?
@dragondeathlord, silk doesn’t stop arrows. What it does do is get pulled into the wound around the arrow head allowing you to remove the arrow without the barbs causing as much ripping and tearing of flesh as they are designed to do.
How well silk stands up to arrows really depends on how many layers you’ve got. One layer may not stop an arrow, but two or more layers should pass the rapier punch test.
@dragondeathlord: Silk is not stronger than steel. It’s stronger than steel for it’s weight. That’s a huge difference, and unless your silk dress weighs something like 100lbs, it’s not likely to be stronger than maille, which is about a hundred times thicker.
I got the impression this was a pretty thick fabric, and it could be silk, because she was the King’s escort, which means her clothing would be expensive.
I don’t know about stopping arrows but it could certainly resist a first attempt to rip it.

So, Tiff likes her dress, huh…

@CrypticMirror. One of three possibilities.
1.) She knows Theresa can’t talk, but Theresa is “screaming” anyway.
2.) She just realized that just because Theresa knows runes, they may not be magic. (Or Theresa has no way to write them)
3.) She’s actually puzzling out how to open the door.
As for the dress, I don’t think Tiff’s noticed here waning strength just yet. Her loss of combat prowess certainly, loss of strength, not so much.
Hey, it’s a dress that doesn’t shred at the slightest gust of wind!
@ CrypticMirror
I’m quite certain legal obligations require me to inform you that delusions are the worst thing that can happen to someone as delusional as us :).
@Elfguy, holy crap, is your avatar Aahz?
the most powerful dress in all of exiern……or Tiffany has become SO weak she can’t even rip through tissue paper..
@Skeeve Why yes, Skeeve…it’s from this page of Phil Foglio’s wonderful adaption of “Another Fine Myth” : http://www.airshipentertainment.com/mythcomic.php?date=20100204

I thought the lack of dress ripping was a double joke. One to her strength, and two to how her clothes always get shredded when she does not want it.
@Khamya I stand corrected!
