Despite her occasional outbursts to the contrary, I wonder if Tiff knows *precisely* what kind of deal she’s made with the king? I suspect so, and just covers with a smokescreen of shallowness and naivete’. I mean, between the lost bandit king episodes and her dealings with Dragon Boy, it’s been pretty clearly established that Tiff is at least biologically attracted to males, even if the old male attitude of “dude, I’m totally not gay!” does spike up at times.
I think Tiffany is going to return the favor/compliment of Brother/Sister Thomas. A lack of formal education does not mean that Tiffany is stupid. She is extremely intelligent and quick to adapt to changing situations, as her fights with Faden demonstrated. Once she knows the rules, she is a formidable opponent. Her one weakness is keeping her temper in check, which she sometimes uses to her advantage to get her way, i.e. best not to argue with the crazy barbarian.
In panel 3 what is up with several faces? Several are missing eyes & some the corresponding eyebrow, & one is even missing a mouth. It gives me the willies looking at them.
@MNH, either they are flesh golems, or the artist is telling us that they are so irrelevant to the plot that they don’t need distinct features. It’s a common device used in many comics, manga and even anime.
I have never seen it in comics before but I only collect a very small portion of the industry. Don’t read manga, the ones I did I no longer have access to for free. I don’t buy translated Japanese stuff, thus I can’t get it that way. Translation = inferior.
@ MNH & Azure, I think the lack of features is probably the beginning of an experiment with blur techniques in photoshop or corel. It takes practice. It definately draws you attention to the girl, and makes you “see” what the guard sees. The frame-breaking of our two blonds in frame three emphasizes what the king sees.
In all, having followed the comic from the beginning, I say “Kudos” on overall continual improvement. Yes, there is room for a text proofreader, but the styling and set-up of the art has been spot-on. Lastly, the story itself is reason enough to start from the beginning, read through and return for updates.
I am going to put out a crazy theory. The “little girl” is actually the kid with Fadens hand. Given the last time we saw him he was putting on one of their masks, that hair could be a wig, the height looks about right and at that age it would be easy to mistake him for a her. Which is what I think is the real reason the guard went after “her” for.
At least there is still the other 7 foot tall guard to watch the king. Speaking of that, where is that lazy bum?

the golem-girl changes “skin” colour in panels 3 and 4… in 3 shes flesh-toned, in panel 4 its all white metal…
I love the king’s guards. They both know there’s a problem, but the king means it’s a social one. Niels, on the other hand (the guard who is NOT unconscious thanks to the kid) knows that the suspicious little girl with a mask over her face and changing skin tone is probably worth investigating.
