why didn’t they just do that in the first place? hes more manageable this way and hows he going to shoot spells at you if he cant direct them !

Well, isn’t that a logical precaution? I mean, 1) he knows black magic, 2) he knows he’s not popular, and 3) he knows that the folks who are likely to take issue with him aren’t going to express their disapproval with, say, a signed petition. So a few spells to make him hard to kill are no surprise. (Nor even the spell that allows his vocal cords to work without a torso.) Now if just she/he had the sense to roll a giant boulder onto the severed head and leave him here in the middle of the forest for good… but then we wouldn’t get to hear his commentary.

I was hoping she’d kill him. I was also hoping that decapitation would do the job since a dagger to the heart failed. I was also secretly worried that beheading wouldn’t do the trick and I was right. (grumbles)
Now here’s another thing that is puzzling me and would explain Typhan-Knee’s suspicion about Faden’s part in the deaths of the soldiers. Why would any beast attack armed and armored men when it had an unarmed, bound, blindfold and fleshy wizard in the vicinity? Something’s not right and I’m sure Faden knows what it is.
Now, now, no call to go losing your head.
