Because you weren’t smart/sneaky/tough enough to be the king!

    Oh and first?

As far as punishments for romping with royal princesses go, this one was pretty mild.

Umm, what is Bohrs holding over Kingies head? O_o

Actually, Lieutenant Commando was in a no-win situation: no matter what he answered with would have got him screwed (just look at Kingies face in panel 4)

Bohr is holding a blanket. He is being the king umbrella.

Actually, that’s the king’s robe. He was carrying it so it wouldn’t get muddy.

Ah, the King – he’s got it all. And you don’t.

@Guesticus Oh, indeed. This is just a slight slice of what Urtica has put our intrepid paramour through.

Just showin’ readers I haven’t forgot about them, and that there’s more coming as well.

Why you? Well, you were smart enough to not complain so he did not choose a duty even *worse* then your current. So you are actually doing very well 😉

For a king, he’s quite juvenile.

Uhl: it’s not his robe, he is still wearing it (plus you can see Bohrs’ armour behind Kingie). If it is a blanket, where did it come from and where did it go? Something that bulky would still be visible even if Bohrs rolled it up and tucked it under his left arm

@Joe England Well, the king need to have his fun. Being an evil overlord, he torment his staff. This guy is a good ruler but a terrible person.I eagerly wait the moment whne the republic people will cut his head.

@StringPetounPing @Joe England Kind wondering If the king needed a new poison taster …
No the Republic love him bc the Public love him. Hes kind of the Royal version of Bill Clinton!

He treats his Public well , He Good with the Economy, His Knights Respect and love him. But He really is Evil and Amoral.

The thing Bohrs was holding was to shield Urtica from the rain initially. Once he was under cover, Bohrs no longer needed to hold it over the King. It IS supposed to be hidden under Bohrs left arm, blocked by the King in the second to last frame, but I didn’t realize that it would lead to confusion in the script I gave Shipeng.

The King isn’t evil, just amoral. As Kings have to be, at least the ones who survive. Reac Machiavelli sometime. It looks like our author has.

@ jonathan – that’s a good analogy, except for one thing. Bill Clinton was not loved and respected by his knights, he was reviled. He made it clear that he neither liked nor respected us, and the feeling was mutual. Duty compelled us to obey him as our commander-in-chief, but there was no respect towards him personally, just towards his office of president.

@Vet: I think you’re exaggerating a bit. Yeah, he wasn’t respected much, but as some have pointed out (notably George Carlin and Bill Maher) Clinton really was the perfect president for us because he was completely full of s!!t. Just like us!

Chemic, can we standardize the names of the dynamic duo once and for all? Those Niels/Neils Bohr/Bohrs inconsistencies are detracting from the comic. I can understand when casual readers do it, but the author???

I have always been under the impression that the names were Niels and Bohrs. I do know that I tripped on Neils initially, but the second one I wasn’t aware there was any confusion.

@jonathon – No need to apologize. No offense was given or made. Just making a statement about the climate of the era.

@ Mogster – Funny! But I’m not commenting on his record or performance as president. That’s far better left to history.

@ chemiclord – Also funny! But I think it only counts as making it when it devolves into a flame throwing argument. We’re being too respectful in our discourse for that. 🙂
