Well archery is out of the question, that’s for sure :P…ouch
Frankly the only thing, i see her handling is a crossbow, cuz she has a large balance “handicap” lol…or maybe magic? But that takes long to learn and Neils can’t help with that.
Reminds me of a line from War Planets/Shadow Raiders (TM). The King of Planet Ice, Cryos tells his daughter “we’re going to need more warriors, so I’ve asked Jade to teach you to fight.”
The ice princess (Xera) beams with joy at that.
Jade, leader of the royal guard for planet Rock then says. “Just remember, child. YOU asked for this.”
@Uhl – I remember “War Planets” – I watched it super early Sunday mornings. I loved that show. It came on with Beast Wars and that terrible 3-D Voltron that had the worst stories but the best freaking cast. Tim Curry can make anything worth watching (not GOOD, but worth watching).
Really, her strength has always been the manipulation of others to do the fighting for her.
But if she’s serious, her father would be a better teacher for fighting styles suitable to her abilities. Althought Neils might know a good few of those after protecting him for sometime.
Peonie must be feeling out of sorts out here – she can’t show off her body, and there’s no one out here to admire it, anyway. It’s making her think in new directions…
Deanatay: it’s called ‘growing up’, some posters might look into it (and follow Princess P-cups’ example)
Xenau: that whole ‘cutting/burning one’s right bewb off’ thing is just a load of monkey-flung dung (for one thing, remove the right bewb just means the left is going to get hit, if you are standing correctly that is)
Lurker: if Niels can’t at least teach Princess P-cups the basics, then he’s not that much of a fighter himself then, pretty sure Kingie would have wanted a fighter who knew how to be more than just an armoured meatshield (if he just wanted one, a golem would be less hassle, and cheaper)
Niels can teach Peonie how to fight, he just can’t maximize her abilities. Then again, she may not WANT to maximize her fighting potential, just be adept enough not to remain helpless. Tiff did a good job translating male fighting experience into a female form (almost instantaneously, if I recall my archive lore), but she’s a bit impatient to be an effective teacher. Niels can teach P-squared enough to get her back home, then the guard captain that the king caught in his skivvies can do the rest…he’s got a lighter build, and is presumably experienced in instructing young knights.
I’m actualy thinking of “Wall-E” when they managed to get him and his really cool robotic girlfriend to emote with just goggles and colored circles for eyes.
I’m eager to see Niels teach the princess. This ought to be fun!
Guesticus: yeah, i wasn’t implying that she should chop her bewb off, or whipping them with a bow string for that matter, that would be a crime against bewbkind.
Just that she doesnt have the build for fast, mobile combat…actually maybe Niels isn’t such a bad choice since his style doesnt involve alot of movement/acrobatics. Plus P-cups has the “steel bikini law” on her side, so “armored” combat is right up her alley 😛
Niels is a warrior, and probably knows a lot of different fighting styles. Any good fighting master knows how to tailor the training to the student, but is Niels a fighting master? Some people can teach, others haven’t the skill. We are about to find out I think.
I agree King Utica’s style would probably be best for her. (Hope I got his name right.) She isn’t suitable for a tank, as mentioned above, and nowhere near agile enough (not to mention too clumsy) for many other styles. That limits the options so Niels has a challenge ahead of him.
BTW, Yoduff has a point about her armor but there’s a breastplate of holding (in the webcomic Bloomin Fairies) that keeps the ample endowments of Patience under control. Just call on the smith that made it. =)
In anything other than hard armour – boiled leather or plate – Peonie is going to have a bit of a problem with the laws of inertia. 🙂
And BTW plate or boiled leather with separate breast fixtures is not the way to go as a fall would push the armour between her breasts into her sternum. Plus of course, a cleavage would catch blades. Uniboob is required. Alas, it won’t look very feminine.
Ten to one she can lean to cast magic. Just bc it will scew her father up with the church,,, or better yet she turns out to be a Sorcerer like Faden just to make the king’s life interesting! lol
FINALLY! My favourite character is back! NIELS! (I’m hoarsely squealing his name under my breath because it’s early in the morning and screaming would rudely awaken the sleeping members of my household.) I genuinely, absolutely, f!!!!!g LOVE THIS GUY. He’s like, the best part of the comic for me, and I don’t feel bad about saying that.
I’m surprised that people are saying “finally” about Peonie having character development. Seems like some people need to go back and re-read the archives. She’s very different from the day she got rescued.
And I agree with the others who complimented the art, great expression on Neils while not breaking his actually look. Very well drawn.
Seems the Edge of the World has a very “make or break” nature to it. And I’d say our heroes are being “made” into something quite different from what they were when they entered this place.

Whoa!!! A Fighting Princess.
Xena Lite?
Finally — some character development for Peonie is coming up

He clearly wasn’t around for the jello witch. Or incarcerating Faden. It’s really too bad that no one of import was around for those.
Very expressive eyes from the tin man.
@Chris Godsey – Yeah, I have to give major props to Shipeng for emoting the hell out of very little!

Well, the power of breasts only gets you so far when a nasty just wants to wear your skin.
I have to think that tank fighting is a lot different than princess fighting.
“Okay, first be much bigger and armored.”
Peonie must be feeling out of sorts out here – she can’t show off her body, and there’s no one out here to admire it, anyway. It’s making her think in new directions…
Niels is not a good choice for teaching Peonie how to fight.
His fighting style is incompatible with her physique.
Deanatay: it’s called ‘growing up’, some posters might look into it (and follow Princess P-cups’ example)

Princess P-cups is finally showing signs of maturity, and she still gets ridiculed by the peanut gallery

Also….Niels-emoticon [O O]
Heh.
Loving the Deadpool Facial expressions.

OMG, character development!
This should be interesting.

Given her physical… assets, the best fighting style to use would be her father’s. See:

I wouldn’t like to be the armourer to make the breastplate but the guy who did Helen Mirren’s in Excalibur might be worth a call

Quartz: and you think her current attire is? O_o
Hmm… Conan wasn’t too good at teaching Princess Jehnna how to fight. At least Niels isn’t drunk.
He can teach her some basic blocks, throws and hits. The rest she will have to learn from getting her but kicked in a ring.
