Egad, they’re really dragging out the revelation of why exactly Alicia wants to kill Denver. It’s actually incredible how much you can dance around a question without ever giving it a solid answer.
Or to put it another way: I refuse to believe the whole save-the-children thing is actually what motivates Alicia to do what she’s doing, at least not half as much as killing Denver, and I really want to know the specific reasons for that. It’s a shame these strips are released so infrequently. I’m sure the creators have their reasons for holding that reveal back, but the fact they only update once a week make strips that may seem well-paced when all read together feel slow and fatigued.
There is nothing “heroic” about your actions, Alicia. Nothing at all, and gender-bending Typh won’t do anything to bring those imaginary “kids” back. You’re sick and delusional. That’s all there is to it.
The spit was just distraction #1, distraction #2 was the arrow which pierced Alicia’s side. As far as distracting things go, an arrow to the side is pretty high up there.
She spit on the nose. i guess the idea was that Alicia had to breath through there while preparing her “Fire Vomit”. So that would have disrupted her breathing at least a little.
Maybe… I might be similarly repulsed by someone launching that epic loogie right in at my face. But, my guess is that Alicia’s reaction might have more to do with the arrow suddenly piercing her ribs.
People die ever min of every day why are those ones so important? News flash they are not. If you save those few some others will die because you changed history. Idealist are the ones that have the lease grip on reality and are the most dangerous to the masses.

You mean aside from Stopping Fayden?
Finding his/her place in the world?
And aside from being himself?
It might not have been a perfect life, but it was still his/her life.

I’m confused – did Tiffany simply use smelly spit or was there another trick.

Took me a second to see the arrow that hit her in the side were the Unicorn got her earlier too.
You mean aside from the third party who just shot Alicia with an arrow?
I’m lost on the pink spit thing too.
Nah, just plain old spit, doesn’t matter who (or what) you are, no one likes getting spat in the face

Think it was a combo of spit followed by timely backup of someone with a bit bow.

And here is where we introduce the new character, “Bard of Laketown”.
So, who is the saviour?
Is it one of Tiff’s companions? Or is it Denver?

Is this what happened to Tiff’s sisters?
