We’re Number 2! – Canada
This is the last week of a break from the main storyline while buffers both physical and metaphorical were being recharged. Today’s excellent image is both marking Canada Day as well as acknowledging the source of our second largest audience.
It was made by longtime contributor Marshall Reeves who is also well known to us as the creator of the webcomic Yesterday Bound and is himself is from Canada.
Marshall in showing Typh and Peonie on their break from the main plot during a visit to the Canadian Rockies decided to eschew the usually expected stereotypical Canadian imagery. Well, most of it anyway.
Today’s image also marks Marshall graduating to captioning his own work this time as well.
Additional image on this Canada Day over at Dark Reflections here.
See you back here in three days for another Exiern and Dark Reflections image this coming Thursday.
Tim Hortons 🙂
Well, I did say Marshall would be avoiding “most” stereotypical Canadian imagery. Never any promises on all of it, though.
What? You would rather they drank that Buckstar crap instead? o_O
Don’t be confusing ‘iconic’ with ‘stereotype’
I embarrassingly spent far too long wondering what Buckstar was referring to. I hadn’t heard of that Canada-centric coffee chain before … eventually the light bulb went off.
😀
I love Canadian Stereotypes, but just so ya know, I live in BC and it was 90 here yesterday. Not exactly muff and tuque weather.
Now you see, to me 90 degrees is almost high enough to boil water. To the temperature converter!
OK, well … about 32C. Kind of hot down here I guess. But still, they’re in the mountains and anyway, Marshall’s in Vancouver or thereabouts …
… wait.
