On the flipside, part of the point of that title/badge is that Typh is the SECRET mercenary of the King. If they got killed, somehow, and someone found the badge on their body, all of Typh’s work will be tied directly to the King.
I think the only reason Typh even had it in the first place is because he needed to prove his title to the captain, and after that, no one else can know.
Called it. And if Typh had been a bit more courteous prior to this, he probably wouldn’t have to stay in the brig. “Our King’s orders are to be carried out… and when you’re not on my ship you can do as you please. When you ARE on my ship…”

Why does she need to take it back? Will he not need to flash the badge later for more cooperation? Guards and suchlike.
That was my thought as well. Wouldn’t a mark like that stay with the intended?

Or worse, steals the badge and starts doing nasty stuff.
Wouldn’t the someone who found the mark on the captain’s hypothetical body more likely assume that the captain was the king’s secret mercenary?
