Wait I thought the King was keen on marrying Tiffany.. I guess he got a pretty girl in the end and marry Theresa does have it’s perks if this does turn out to be true.
@DragonChild: Perhaps one gender bent male is as good as any?
Theresa was a lot more accepting of her change anyway.
Daddy tried to use Peony to get Tiffany accept her change (the whole coin on a string thing), but other maters got in the way.
Of course getting married in just two weeks of Tiffany and Denver being away would be wierd. Unless this is mostly a political marriage. We will see what it is and where it leads.
Tiff: hot, cursed, gender-bent male-to-female, unwilling, mostly uninterested, and kinda hung up on a dorky dragon-librarian, off on a quest somewhere.
Theresa: hot, cursed, gender-bent male-to-female, willing, interested, no hang-ups whatsoever, currently on the outs with the Church and in need of a strong, manly benefactor, right frickin’ there.
First comes love (the seksy kind), then comes marriage, then comes the male heir in the baby carriage!
@Tiffanyhm , You really think the king would need to get married to “tap that”? Theresa hasn’t exactly played hard to get with anyone, and the king doesn’t seem to caught up with waiting till marriage for anyone else.
Trust me if the king married her, then its all about the politics of the situation.
I agree that the marriage theory seems very plausible, considering Peonie’s reaction, but maybe it’s too obvious. As to what else it could be, however, I don’t have a clue, but I’m sure Theresa is capable of doing any number of things that could drive the Princess to murder. I mean heck, she pretty much just has to speak and Tiff wants to kill her!
Hey, I had a Evil thought,Quite proud of my self for having it! What will she do if there a Royal heir cooking in Theresa oven? How Long were they gone? they were trying to beat winter to the Path and they did its why they never sent Princess back and then they did there stuff (did not seem long) but it had to because winter past and the path is clear. I am guessing the comic skips them riding around 4 week doing zero other than stabbing a shark. So if it was like 4 weeks to get to Neese, and say 4 to get to Tiffs Brothers Place then 4 to get the end of the world stay there an get back the brothers village then 4 to stay there and get back to Neese. I men it HAD TO BE Long enough for Winter to pass and the Mountain Path to clear. Say 4 to 5 Months! So Theresa might be PREGNANT and that a Pending BIRTH Announcement! Still it dose not seem long Enough unless its like a Pregnancy could be safely magically rushed?
The Church of Rem Might Hate the Idea of a Girl Priest but A Priest Giving birth to the Next King or Queen???
Oh I think they would Love that.. I think they would Move Hell and Rem and Heaven for that! Priest says”Female Clerics? WHAT INSANE,,,Wait did you say Royal heir?!!! WHAT A WONDERFUL IDEA!”
Weirdly many of the misogynist Priests Might not think so badly of Brother Thomas,, He I mean she clearly Planned this all along and took one for the TEAM! Truly this will be a Manly ruler Even if its Born a Girl with TWO PARENTS BOTH BORN MALE!!! Truly Free of Women’s Sin! A GOD KING YES! I mean if it was like early (lets be honest even modern Christian Church) There be Huge Arguments That since she can give Birth Thomas IS a TRUE FEMALE but since Born man would not carry Original Sin nor Eve Sin… So yes they would be Very happy..
If its a 2 Month trip to Neese or Longer..Then the Timing Works and it would be about 9 months when Princess gets back Now that would be Funny..
I think Peonie Mind would Break and she would hunt down and Marry Faden…Or just take up wearing Dark Armor and start Looking For a Tower of Evil and some Brown Minions..
Safe bet the Church would Legitimize the Birth regardless of Marital state. In are world this actually happened a lot in the middle ages. So it might not be a marriage announcement.
@Jonathan Wint:P Actually not all that often – in many cases (known as “morganatic” marriages), even children born in wedlock were not eligible to inherit.
Also, not sure it’s the Church that has the say here.
Hmmm. Not sure where that “P” came from… there was just supposed to be a colon there, not something that looks like a sticking-out-your-tongue emoticon…
@Jonathan Wint
Well unless the kingdom doesn’t acknowledge female rulers, Peonie would still be next in line. No matter what is in Theresa’s ‘oven’.
The only problem is that it might create a feud between Peonie and this would be heir. And even then, Peonie has a huge headstart, she is more or less of age to succeed, while the competition is at best still a toddler, barring any temporal weirdness from the World’s End. Which is a very plausible thing. DOOOOOM! and all that
Well Peonie dose not want to rule and the King Originally wanted Tiff to Provide a Replacement Royal heir.
@Fairportfan
Hernán Cortés son by Doña Marina was Legitimized by the church even though she was married to anther man and inherited. And 2 other children.
And 1 big reasons King Henry the 8th was so ticked with the church originally was they would not Legitimized his illegitimate Son. So I was not speaking of morganatic marriages, But The church Legitimizing witch in many ways was the exact Opposite.
Here a source. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hern%C3%A1n_Cort%C3%A9s#Last_years_and_legacy
Before he died he had the Pope remove the “natural” status of three of his children (legitimizing them in the eyes of the church), including Martin, the son he had with Doña Marina (also known as La Malinche), said to be his favourite
Everyone’s making such dramatic guesses about the announcement. Maybe Theresa just wanted the King to eat healthier and has made some changes to the castle menu.
Peonie: You have abolished Taco Tuesday? THIS MEANS WAR!
Yeah, I’m thinking Teresa has been up to no good while they’ve been away. I like the idea that she married the king…
when was the last time we saw him? I think he was reprimanding the Lieutenant guarding the gate (formerly Captain before he was caught *cough* out of uniform *cough* near the Princess’ chambers).
A male heir could also be a threat to Peonie. Urtica wouldn’t need her around anymore, and I wouldn’t put it past him to have her “disappear” like her mother.

Princess P-cups is going to test out here new fighting skills.
Any bets that it’s Theresa that is the object of Peonie’s ire?
You mean, Theresa-Who-Married-King-Daddy?
looks like Peonie has a new mommy
@fairportfan That’s the one.
Teresa married King Urtica.
She gets to climb high on royalty and the church/magic thing
He gets the church/magic thing
Wait I thought the King was keen on marrying Tiffany.. I guess he got a pretty girl in the end and marry Theresa does have it’s perks if this does turn out to be true.

Queen Teressa? o_O
Tif to Niels: “Should we go after her now? Or try and sell Denvers horse first?”
Tiff: hot, cursed, gender-bent male-to-female, unwilling, mostly uninterested, and kinda hung up on a dorky dragon-librarian, off on a quest somewhere.

The king marrying her is probably 85% calculation on his part and 15% wanting to tap that..
So that is why Peonie was allowed to run away to the great north. Urtica was getting rid of an obstacle to progress.
Also helps explain why Theresa was so keen to stay behind, although she DID give some very good reasons.
You TEASE! >.<
I swear, you will see what is on that sheet this Thursday! In the meantime I am very much enjoying the theories… 😉
He wanted to mary Tiff for a strong male heir. I guess he figure he can get that also from Theresa.
Princes say hi to your Transgender Mom Theresa !
From what I remember the King and Tiffany disccussed it and agreed that marriage was not going to happen but she would be Peonnie’s body guard.

A Royal Pregnancy WOULD Be Announced.

Legitimizing did indeed allow the child to inherit.
Everyone’s making such dramatic guesses about the announcement. Maybe Theresa just wanted the King to eat healthier and has made some changes to the castle menu.

Now I remember where we last saw Urtica. The night before they left the Barbarian Camp to head for the World’s edge.
http://www.exiern.com/2013/03/26/yeah-never-say-that/
Thought Princess P-cups wanted to be a ruler, so she could make her own rules and stuff
A male heir could also be a threat to Peonie. Urtica wouldn’t need her around anymore, and I wouldn’t put it past him to have her “disappear” like her mother.
Look’s like the king got married.
