Swords, Sorcery, And Then Some!
Howdy, New Readers! Thanks for reading Exiern!
Written by Scott T. Hicken with art by Antipus, the comic updates Mondays. Please check out the Archive to enjoy the earlier adventures of Typh and Peonie!
Exiern contains mature themes and is best for readers 18+.
The light of the Church really does remind people of their sins… Or at least in this case identify who had the craziest night. Grooms and Groomsmen must be in so much pain right now.
Just hospitals. The number of people who write it down with two t’s in the notes are still a lot more than I expected. I’m not having a problem with Scott, it’s just that those people deal a lot more with it than cartoonists (at least I hope so!) so they should be getting the spelling right.
Believe me, it’s like the bogeyman I can never escape for long unfortunately, that particular incorrect spelling has been following me everywhere I work, so I know it by sight (apparently it’s the most common way to do so at 42% according to a source on the Internet I saw).
At least it beats actual vomit and do I have some stories I’m not going to tell you or anyone else here (at least if I want to be able to ever come back).
I really like how the light effect came out in that last panel. It definitely looks bright, but fortunately I have not been drinking, so it doesn’t make me want to vomitt.
😉 😀
Now looking for Peonie, broadcasting a totally evil grin, to hug Typh and whisper, “Wow, unicorn’s gonna be giving somebody I know the hairy eyeball! [Boyfriend] says ‘Thank You!'”
It was also something I used to say or at least think when I emerged into the sun after working night shift and I’ve never even seen Gremlins. I think it’s also a perfectly natural reaction to the destructive power of the sun, especially on those of us effectively working in a cave for years on end.
“Since the dawn of time mankind has yearned to destroy the sun …”

Yes, well, those of us who are awake and have had coffee want to put an electromagnetic harness on it and turn it into a fusion drive so we can fly the solar system around the galaxy at will.
I’m in Australia. We’re always awake before most of the rest of you.
Also since most of our wildlife is trying to kill us on a regular basis, we’re probably also awake long after most of you have gone back to sleep also.
@Shan: I was speaking of “dawn” and “awake” not in the daily sense, but the millennial sense you referenced with “since the dawn of time”.
(There’s also a resonance with “The Dream Time”, although that itself seems to be one of those academic mistranslations that has proven to have its own power, to the point where it has currency in the indigenous culture at least as great as the traditional concept, which was closer to “eternity”.)

Scott sorry about this, I don’t usually do the spelling thing but ‘vomiting’ with a double t was/is one of my top pet hates from work.
The Evil Daystar…
Yes, one of my top enemies after working night shift.
@Shan: sounds like an interesting work place you have there.

@Shan – dang it, I even THOUGHT it looked funny and then forgot to check. Should be fixed now, thanks for the catch!

Oh no! Typh has gone Gremlin on us!
Well, things could be worse from the point of view of our hero I guess. There’s vomiting due to pregnancy for starters …

Crap. “somebody“, of course.
[Kisses Typh’s cheek]
“You were so cute!”
Oh, Cool! A Gremlin reference …
On the sixth day, God invented vodka and it was gooooood. On the seventh day, he invented Light. “Whoa! Too much light!”
@Ragingagnostic:
hahahaha
Hisssss! The evil Daystar!
Bane of vampires, gamers, and the hungover!
Sorry Scott but as of writing this, that second ‘t’ is still there, taunting me with its presence.
That’s a pretty neat Gremlin’s reference. 😀
See what happens when you feed Typh after midnight?
Glad others picked up the Gremlins slash Mogwai references 😀

I don’t know why but I feel as if a great weight has been lifted from my shoulders …

If you’re talking in the millennial sense, then that’s an awful lot of coffee.
The widespread consumption of coffee and tobacco in Europe coinciding with the Enlightenment and Renaissance has oft been noted.
So, yeah, lots and lots of coffee.
Gizmo kaka
I like how she brings a sword to a wedding.
Better safe than sorry.
