Swords, Sorcery, And Then Some!
Howdy, New Readers! Thanks for reading Exiern!
Written by Scott T. Hicken with art by Antipus, the comic updates Mondays. Please check out the Archive to enjoy the earlier adventures of Typh and Peonie!
Exiern contains mature themes and is best for readers 18+.
is she pointing at Wyll in the last panel? He seems to have lost his leather harness between panels 4 and 6, but I don’t remember there being anyone else in the room for that to be.
Wyll still has his harness; it’s just that the matron’s hand is covering a big chunk of it.
What I want to know is: Why is Tiff suddenly wearing a tunic? There was this big deal about duels having to be fought bare chested, and judging by the dialog, there hasn’t been time for her to get dressed.
Probably Typhan-knee, in her mind. She wouldn’t take it, of course, but Grencha’s too hate-blind to see that. Instead, it would probably mean the dissolution of the alliance, internecine fighting over the throne, and just plain chaos among the Northern tribes.
OOPS!!!
Right Scene, But Wrong Person.
Diana seems to be a little behind on my guess entering the room and find The Main Two just talking – not fighting.
I think Grina wasn’t confused when she said the hunters killed Raviner-Behr, she was lying.
Based on Typhan-Knee’s recounting, when Grina arrived, Typhan-Knee had the sword with Raviner-Behr’s blood on it in his hand. Why then, would she think the hunters did it?
It just seems to me that her version is a little to far off from Typhan-Knees version to be explained by confusion. I don’t know why she would lie, but it would explain why she seems to think Typhan-Knee should be the leader.
Okay, may not have said that Matron was the one who sent the assassination order, but fairly sure did say that Matron looked shocked that Tiff had returned (now it seems maybe that she expected Typh to return and kill his brother)
Inquisitive Raven: no, her wrinkly hand doesn’t even cover the skull emblem (or it wouldn’t if Willy was still wearing his harness, the harness that has 4 straps and a skull buckle that sits right between his mewbs pecs)
It’s actually like a reverse murder mystery reveal: I’ve waited here until you gathered yourselves in this place to reveal who are the conspirators!! (Organ crash)
The harness was not actually missing. What you are seeing is them caving into the various people’s imperceptive eyes and drastically highlighting the harness so that people would not actually complain about it anymore.
Again, the harness was there and see-able, but you guys just didn’t think to look hard enough.
@chemiclord Hey do I get a No-Prize if I explain the changing out fits?? (Marvel used to give em.) Tiff a Walking breach in reality so things near her are effected like they are at the worlds end, bc the Author eye is on her.

Oh and also Ho.
Good twist. GOOD twist.
I need a charter sheet suddenly, to remember why everyone hates each other.
If that’s Wyll-Line in the last panel, where did his leather harness go? 🙂
I need one to keep track of who people /are/, never mind who hates each other. :/
@Cerulean Lion: Yay for chauvinism! Then you can just hate whoever you cannot keep track of.

She is blaming him for her son’s death, he sent him to fight the bastard sorcerer, and now her granddaughter is with him.
Knew it was Matron! (fairly sure said that some time again, or maybe not, can’t remember now, anyone able/willing to confirm for me?)

Raven, she put it back on at the end of The Name Game (225). I actually wondered the same thing and looked back.
Ah. Dear Grenchka. Killing Will Line won’t do you or the tribe any good. Who exactly were you going to put on the throne? Yourself?
Probably Typhan-knee, in her mind. She wouldn’t take it, of course, but Grencha’s too hate-blind to see that. Instead, it would probably mean the dissolution of the alliance, internecine fighting over the throne, and just plain chaos among the Northern tribes.
@Inquisitive Raven – She put her shirt back on at the end of http://www.exiern.com/2014/02/25/the-name-game/
Isn’t this where Mrs. Fletcher walks in?
I did not see this coming! WOW!
@Bob! – my kudos for a “Murder, She Wrote” reference.

Q1: How did the matron get in? Guards slacking off?
Q2: Why did she suddenly become stupid? “No, I am the one behind this s!!t…”
Q1: She never left. Overlooked by the two clowns Diana bullied her way through.
Q2: It’s become clear to her there’s not going to be a fight. She’s frustrated at coming so close and it’s all boiled over.

plot twist!!! though looking back this makes more sense.
@knite That’s kinda the goal with this sorta thing, so good!
All shall be revealed (but, let’s hope the old prunes keep their clothes on)
@Guesticus Mental image of old Naked Lady…I am Puking…
@Raven,: The harness was actually missing in the last panel. It has since been corrected since we see him wearing it.
