Yes, of course he’ll cheat… Or someone is instructed to cheat for him. There’s really no other reason for the comment from the henchman a few pages ago.
That being said, one can always hope that she’ll come out on top still, thanks to her own devices or some timely Tiff help.
I love how the foreground runes in panel four seem to spell out “pig.” An indication that in a contest like this some of your true nature shows through, just a visual joke for the readers, or pure coincidence?
@ Aberham102. Theresa may be in a dress and Corset, but Cilantro is in solid plate-mail. It’s not easy to breathe, let alone sing, in plate mail. Still, since the “Duet” hasn’t been practiced in centuries, it’s most likely that the “good” cardinal will “unwittingly” cheat.
I think we might be surprised by the outcome. We don’t really know how powerful in the art Brother Thomas was before becoming Sister Teresa. Also, females were forbidden to become spell singers and I think it might have been more of a physical reason than a philosophical one. We are talking about singing here and females have usually been able to reach a higher and more diverse range of song than males. She may have a unfair advantage on him!
For those who don’t get the reference to the title, there was a kids show callsed “Where in the world is Carmon Sandiago” based on a computer game in the 90s. The in-house band was called “Rockapella”
Be a Producer!Your name/title with an optional SFW hyperlink will be posted prominently HERE following the close of the month! You’ll also receive monthly mailings from Exiern’s author, Scott T. Hicken!
Should that be Duet Rockapella?
They are going to sing the place into the ground.
Teresa will win. Unfortunately, she may win by staying alive thirteen seconds longer than the Bad Guy.
She is dueling someone in a corset and wedding dress. I hope there is some kind of epic ‘Lung capacity’ moment.
You guys sound like you believe this is a fair contest. You do realize Cardinal Cilantro is going to cheat, right?

@Bad Taiming:
That first panel reminded me of “charging power” sequences from Dragonball. Even a few of the plates are lifting themself up.
Of course. I would expect the older, more experienced member of the clergy to be better at it. One does not attain such a title by being ignorant.

Great Balls o’ Fire!
Was thinking of this track actually:

I like the graphic representation of the song runes. They appear to be singing different runes, but the melody is the same.
Oh, and while she is yellow, his balls are blue and bigger… Not sure if that means anything.
He turns into a woman in

Two things I noticed.
Her “song circle” seems to have fractured where his hit it.
His big blue ball appears to be fracturing where she hit it.
It almost looks to me like the “song circle” is some kind of defensive ward that can be used to break other wards.
If so, he is trying to break her wards while she is…ahem…busting his balls? 😉 He may not enjoy the next few seconds…
