No, Denver was on his way to becoming a dragon, I think. He stayed behind to learn more about his condition. I’m not sure; this was many months ago. He was a companion on their quest but he was never in the Royal Guard.
I think you mean, “it *helps* if they’re still attached to a live unicorn.” Just saying, so you know.
Of course, they’re more helpful still for the unicorn, and that horn is still long and pointy, so it’s a very good idea to stay on the unicorn’s good side if you plan on taking advantage of this bonus.
There have been several lawsuits in real life where people were rejected from the police Academy for being too intelligent.. I wonder if same things going on in the Royal Guard?
Erwin fell on the sharpened sticks, which “worked”; Mavis did the same after being chased by the bear; Steve got the bear falling on him. It is possible they were abandoned while still alive, but even if they survived the sticks they were still severely injured in a hole with an angry bear. So I don’t think there’s much hope for any of them.
The funny thing is that reading that explanation took be back to the days I was an NCO and had to listen to my soldiers explain their latest ‘good idea’ – that managed to get me chewed out by my platoon leader, the First Sergeant and the Commanding Officer.

Is that Denver?
No, Denver was on his way to becoming a dragon, I think. He stayed behind to learn more about his condition. I’m not sure; this was many months ago. He was a companion on their quest but he was never in the Royal Guard.
Also, Denver was never this stupid. Naive and inexperienced, yes, but not stupid.
The hairstyle and the glasses remind me of him. And then there’ Peonie’s expression.
More IGC graduates!
Does Typh have a healing factor? They seem to be doing pretty well for someone with 8 broken ribs. O_o;
She’s probably still operating on the macho ideal that “real men don’t cry” and is bottling it all up. Plus her people are known for their resilience.
Also, unicorn horns and hair are rather good for ones health. Doesn’t matter if they’re still attached to a live unicorn.

Urtica needs a new training school for his soldiers.
Those soldiers remind me of Yinglets.
Today, on Keystone K-niggits…
Interesting how today’s comic is immediately followed by an appeal to “Help children with brain tumors”.
If we help them, will they someday grow up and get jobs in the Royal Guard? I mean, I’m all for charity, but…
You read my mind, good sir.
I didn’t know King Urtica hired clowns! I wonder if they performed at the wedding.
Something is telling me, Specs there is Evil
There have been several lawsuits in real life where people were rejected from the police Academy for being too intelligent.. I wonder if same things going on in the Royal Guard?
You mean, the consequences of only accepting the idiots? Like Specs?
No thats never happened yet its from candidates that were Rejected for getting to night test scores.
It didn’t sound like any of them died.
I’ve seen a picture of a guy that survived having a tree through the shoulder.
Great! The only female soldier in the Kingdom, and Specs gets her killed!
It’s Ice Age II and the Dodo’s all over again!!
the dodos died in Ice Age 1.
Oh right, can see the kid now, was thinking it was the second one 🙁
Something tells me those troops gave in way too soon, I’m betting they could have taken that bear if they just all jumped in.
“… On the bright side, there’s plenty of fresh bear meat for tonight!”

It sadly explains the guards and real word.
They need to be awarded Darwin Awards for this.
“Niels” and “Bohr?”
The two, hmmm, guards detailed by Urtica to protect Peony from the dangers of the road.
The funny thing is that reading that explanation took be back to the days I was an NCO and had to listen to my soldiers explain their latest ‘good idea’ – that managed to get me chewed out by my platoon leader, the First Sergeant and the Commanding Officer.
So… They didn’t eat the bear?
