Well, who would have expected how happy Denver could look upon encountering a Mingalow, and how unhappy upon encountering probably his favorite author-philosopher.
She seems to be right about the pratling buffoon thing. answering a “need answers” statement with a “want answer” rant, you can’t compare those two and he should know that!
‘Answering a âneed answersâ statement with a âwant answerâ rant’
How do I help my sick mother recover from her sickness?
True answer: “You can’t, she is going to die no matter what, best you can do is be there for her in her last days”
Want answer: “Get this thing and that thing and mix them together and get her to drink and maybe she recovers”
…
I think his start does fit, it is a warning that the truth is often unpleasant and people tend to prefer more pleasant lies. Politicians may find honesty less likely way to win power.
If he follows the warning that they may not like the unpleasant truth with the actual unpleasant truth the whole thing may fit very well with their question.
“I would rather know the unpleasant facts than be told a beautiful lie.”
If you know it is a lie, then yes (and if you discover later it is a lie then later yes)
But often the pleasant lie is believed and wanted at first. Real life example, US government has gone from 5 trillion dollars to 16 trillion dollars in debt in 12 years and the fed reserve continues to create from nothing a trillion dollars a year in “easing” which is large fraction of entire US money supply… because people indirectly want it that way by what gets politicians elected. Historically that sort of thing has always ended very unpleasantly, eg greece now or germany in 1930.
A ponzi scheme is based on the pleasant lie rather than unpleasant truth, a ponzi scheme can last for decades, all it needs is people rich enough to be willing to keep leaving more and more of their “great fortune” in the ponzi scheme. All ponzi schemes eventually collapse.

YEAH!!! You tell him Tiff!
But now he may not answer any of your questions … or he may respect the idea that you know he has his faults.
Heh heh, loving the looks of Tiff and Princess P-cups in the last panel đ
And I’m guessing he wrote Faden’s magic book too.

Denver finds Osir’s works to be meandering and prattling too. He’d just never say it to the guy’s face.
Denver bashed an ice demon with his bare hands, and Osir is about to make him personally wet himself.
Librarians…go figure.
Noted philosopher and amazing hair!
Who’s this guy’s barber? That beard is weird.
I wounder if Osir has any connection to the crazy old man and/or his granddaughter?
Heh, obviously Tiffany has read “How to Make Friends and Influence People.”
That’s a tattoo.
Go, Tiff, show him that you’re not an intellectual coward!
“Just so we’re clear.”
Maybe this is the grave of ASH

A Nemishi Fro is a bit hard to pull off unless you are awesome, is he awesome?
Neither of the girls are impressed so far (loving it :D)

If you had said “How do I help my sick mother not die?” then your ‘True/Want’ Answers would be correct
Plenty of people recover from an illness/injury/sickness, while technically they will still end up dieing (kinda like how Mephisto screwed over Blaze)
Also, the only question they have asked so far relate to him directly (as in: Tad asked if he really was Osir)
I would rather know the unpleasant facts than be told a beautiful lie.
